A/N: There will be some fluff in this chapter so here's a heads up. If you don't like yaoi, you shouldn't continue reading this book. There will also be yuri in the near future.

Naruto POV

After the little fiasco at lunch, the rest of the day was sadly uneventful. Ino and her minions, thankfully my sister wasn't with them, have apparently been trying to get Sasuke to stay with them. We spent an hour trying to lose them after the academy, so we were going to my place.

Sasuke needed to leave his house because his brother was coming home from a week-long mission on Friday. His parents almost completely forgot he was there the last time it happened. Hinata wanted a break from her father since she had to train so much to prove herself to him. Sakura's mother Mebuki Haruno, wants her to try and marry into mine or Sasuke's clan, which caused its fair share of fights in her household. We all needed something to take our minds off everything so we planned to camp outside, and when we mentioned it to our parents, we would say it's a training exercise.

Sasuke and I got nearer to my house. We saw my father about to go to work, even though today was his break day. I called out to him "Father, why are you going to work? It's supposed to be your break day." He turned to us and replied "I have to see the Kazekage off. He was staying here in Konoha for a week with one of his children, Gaara. If you want, I can take you kids with me considering the fact the other three in the house didn't want to go." Although it felt kinda sad I was the last choice for an event like that, I was excited to meet the kid.

After all, who doesn't like foreign people?

I turned to Sasuke for his opinion and he just said "Sure, why not". We followed my father to the gates of the village, and saw a vaguely familiar redhead standing there with the Kazekage. "Hey, you're that kid I bumped into on my birthday." I loudly exclaimed. He gazed at me silently, staring until the point I felt awkward. When I felt like I was about to go crazy from his staring he said, "Mother says you have big brother in you." "Um, Naruto, what does he mean by 'you have big brother in you'?" Sasuke questioned.

Okay, I officially don't like forign people anymore.

I ignored his question and asked the kid named Gaara "What do you mean?" "Mother, or Shukaku as some say, says you have big brother in you." It took a second before I realized what he meant. 'He's the jinchuuriki of the one-tailed beast, Shukaku'. I looked towards Sasuke and said, "I'll tell you later, okay?" He gave me a slight nod so I took it as a yes.

"So, Gaara, what do you do in Suna?" I questioned the red-head. "I don't do anything. I have nobody to do anything with. Everyone is scared of me." 'He's just like me' I thought to myself. "I don't see any reason to be afraid of you. Next time you're in Konoha, I'll do things with you. You can hang out with me and my friends anytime." I said happily. "It's 'my friends and I', Dobe," I glared at Sasuke. "I knew that already, Teme. I just uh- like speaking uniquely, that's it."

Our little argument ended when the kazekage called our new redheaded friend. "Gaara. It's time to leave and go back to Suna now." Gaara began walking away, but stopped and looked back at us. "If we meet again and you need anything in the future, I am willing to help you because you have helped me." He smiled and turned back to leave.

We walked back to my place, avoiding my family, and went to my room to talk. Sasuke turned to me and said "We'll, are you going to explain what he meant now or should I leave earlier than planned?"

"Sasuke, please don't hate me for telling you this." He gave me a look and retorted "What could make me hate you?". I took a shaky breath in and said "You know how the Nine-tailed fox demon attacked Konoha nine years ago? It wasn't killed like people said it was. It got sealed into three children, the yin chakra, yang chakra and soul respectively. What I'm trying to tell you is the soul part of it was sealed into me, making me the holder of its consciousness." I slowly got quieter as I spoke, so the last words were barely above a whisper. I was expecting him to hit me, yell at me, heck I even thought he might flat out walk away from me. Instead he did something completely unexpected.

He hugged me.

"Why didn't you tell me sooner, Dobe?" He whispered in my ear. "You don't hate me?" I asked almost silently. "Why would I? You're my first and best friend. If you didn't come along in my life, I doubt I would be the same person. I'd probably be some revenge craved idiot trying to kill my brother or something." We both laughed slightly at the last part of his little speech. "What I'm saying is that I would never be able to hate you. You're too precious to me for that." I started blushing at that statement. I got a weird feeling in my stomach similar to when he dragged me away from Ino and his fangirls.

As I started to hug him back, he spoke again, almost nervously. "Dobe, I feel the complete opposite of hate. In fact I think I'm in love with you." I froze at his word, then I slowly looked up at him. "Do you mean it, Teme?" I said, just as nervous as him, if not more so. "Of course I do. Dobe." he whispered in my ear again.

I could feel the blood rushing to my cheeks as I whispered back to him "I feel the same about you" And with those words I kissed him on the cheek shyly. We stayed hugging like that until he had to leave. "Have a goodnight, Dobe." Sasuke told me, smiling as he left.
