Sakura POV

When Hinata and I ran from the boys, I felt like I was useless to the team. I had no kekkei genkai like Hinata and Sasuke, no fighting skills like Sasuke and Naruto, and no bravery like Naruto. If all I do is sit around acting smart, my friends will die because of me.

"Hinata" I grabbed her shoulder, still running. Hinata didn't look back at me, likely because her byakugan was activated and she could see me with it.

"What is it Sakura?"

"What if we can't find the Root agent in time?"

"I have an idea." She stopped running -almost knocking me over in the process- and called out, "Hey, owl. We need you for something." As if on cue, a silvery blue owl flew out of the tees and in front of Hinata. "What is it that you need?" The owl questioned, I almost fainted when I heard it.

"Sakura, do you have any paper on you?" I felt around in my pockets and pulled out a paper I used to list the things I brought for our trip. She pulled a pen from her pocket and wrote a message on it while muttering "Dear Danzo-sama, We were attacked on our trip. Please send help. From Hinata Hyuga."

She then got the bird to hold onto the paper and told it "Please give this to the Danzo-sama, it could save our friend's lives." Before the owl took off, it turned to Hinata and spoke "You have proven yourself by sending away what could have been the only source of safety for you. You are worthy of the owls."

Hinata smiled "Thank you. Now can you get the note to him?"

"Alright, alright I'm leaving now." We watched as the owl flew away with the note. I turned to Hinata and said, "We should go back and help the boys now."

"Yea let's go" She hopped away into the trees to travel faster, leaving me trailing behind. While we were traveling back to the campsite I smelled something similar to fried beef, but different in a bad way. We arrived on time to see Sasuke collapse onto the ground, seemingly unconscious. Looking further into the site I saw the burnt remnant of the nin they were fighting, and then I saw Naruto.

He had deep cuts all over his body along with a kunai in his thigh. The worst part of it was he had a shuriken sticking out of his throat. I screamed once I saw the immense puddle of blood surrounding him.

Naruto POV

All I could see was black.

If you were falling through a pitch black void at midnight, it wouldn't be as dark as this. I felt as though I was falling for eternity before I dropped into what looked like a sewer.

I was surprised I was in a sewer, because last time I checked, I was in the middle of a forest fighting some dude. I started to walk through the sewer water, down so many winding turns I got disoriented. I started hearing a low pitched growling and walked that direction.

As I walked, I thought out loud to myself "Am I dead?"

"Sadly, you're still alive."

I spun around quickly, trying to find the voice's origin. "Come to my voice if you wish to see me, foolish child." I felt offended when he called me a 'foolish child'. I started walking to where I thought the voice came from, and promptly screamed.
