Chapter 4

"Sorry to cut this short, but Sasori says we're leaving." Naruto yelled at Deidara, "No you're not! Not until you return Gaara to me!" After focusing his chakra for a minute, Kakashi opened his left eye to reveal a mangekyou sharingan. Deidara looked back nervously, 'What is that?' As Kakashi focused his left eye on Deidara's right arm. Once Kakashi struggled to focus his chakra, the jutsu caused Deidara's arm to be ripped off. Deidara glared down at Kakashi as Naruto appeared behind him. Deidara barely had time to react to the rasengan that pushed him off of his bird. Naruto then ripped the clay bird's head off, causing Deidara to scoff. Naruto created a shadow clone to catch the head as they landed on a tree branch, Deidara not too far away. Kakashi followed and had to stop walking due to his overuse of the sharingan. Naruto ripped open the clay head to reveal a dead Gaara. 'My right arm too... I can't use jutsu anymore... It's come to this... hm? But, running into someone with Itachi level ocular jutsu. This jinchuriki is nothing, the problem is how to deal with Kakashi.' Naruto growled, "It's time for you to get hit!" Deidara brushed him off, "Yeah yeah, I'll have it out with you another time." As if right on queue, Naruto punches Deidara in the face hard enough to send him flying. Naruto created four shadow clones to hold down Deidara as he slammed a rasengan into his stomach. Naruto started punching Deidara until his fist was covered in blood. Black sand then wrapped around Naruto's body. "Do I have to do everything around here?"

Kakashi and Naruto turned towards the recognizable voice. Sasori had his third kazekage puppet summoned and a bored look on his face. When Kakashi tried to stand up, Sasori used the puppet's arm to slam Kakashi into a tree. The action made Naruto practically red with rage. Naruto tore the sand off, to Sasori's surprise, and charged at Sasori. Sasori dodged easily and commented, "You have a worse temper than your teammate." A dark thought then entered Naruto and Kakashi's mind. Deidara revealed himself from the bushes, "I didn't expect you to be back so soon. We're they that pathetic?" Sasori ignored his partner as Naruto asked, "Where is she?" Sasori turned towards him and groaned, "Hm?" Naruto yelled, "Where are they?! Sakura and Chiyo?! They were with you, what happened to them?!" Sasori then realized what he was talking about. Sasori simply smirked in response. Naruto's eyes filled with tears and rage, "YOU BASTARD! I'LL KILL YOU!" Naruto charged at Sasori and attacked him sporadically. Sasori had to rely on dodging and countering with the iron sand.

Eventually, Sasori was able to get a clean hit on the jinchuriki and sent him flying. Naruto hit a tree before falling to the ground, shadow clones dispersing. Kakashi yelled, "Naruto!" Sasori moved over to Deidara and finally got a good look at him, "What happened to your arm?" Deidara responded, "Kakashi. He has a mangekyou sharingan." Sasori looked over to the Hatake, 'Great... I have to fight the jinchuriki host and a user of the mangekyou without doing serious damage.' Only then did Sasori notice what was happening to Naruto's body. Nine tailed chakra was leaking out of him and creating a two-tailed chakra cloak. '"That can't be good...' Kakashi thought back to Jiraiya's warning. 'Be careful if chakra emanating from Naruto's body begins to form the nine-tailed fox demon. Listen, stop it while it still only has one tail." Jiraiya handed him a seal, "Use this." Kakashi asked, "What is it?" Jiraiya answered, "This will seal the chakra of the nine tails immediately."' Kakashi ran towards Naruto's body and slammed the seal on Naruto's forehead. 'Let's hope this works.'

Kiba stood up, panting, "He was strong, almost a worthy fake me." Hinata, Shino, and Kurenai were all also in a similar situation. Kurenai leaned into her radio and asked, "Everyone okay?" Kiba said, "Yeah!" Hinata said, "We should catch up and help the others."

Kakashi turned away from the unconscious Naruto and faced Sasori, "Sakura and Chiyo... are they alive?" Sasori sighed before responding, "Yeah, don't worry." Sasori then turned towards Deidara, "It's time to go. I'm done wasting time." The two shushined away as Naruto started waking up. Kakashi asked, "Naruto, are you alright?" Naruto tiredly nodded. Chiyo and Sakura then appeared, "Finally caught up with you." Naruto's fears were washed away and he hugged Sakura. Being caught off guard, Sakura awkwardly patted his back and asked, "Um... are you okay, Naruto?" Naruto responded, "I thought you died!" Sakura asked, "What?!" Kakashi explained, "Sasori showed up and we assumed the worst." Sakura thought back to the deal she made and mumbled, "Sasori..." Naruto released Sakura and asked, "Sakura?" Sakura put on the most convincing smile she could and said, "I'm glad to see you're okay!" She then hugged Naruto. After a few seconds, the two teammates let go of each other and Kakashi asked, "How did you know we were here?" Sakura answered, "We saw the enemy fly over." Chiyo asked, "Where's Gaara?" Naruto looked up towards Gaara and everyone looked in the same direction. Chiyo mumbled, "Good." Team Kurenai rejoined up with the Gaara retrieval team. After Kakashi explained what just happened, the two teams started on their way back towards Sunagakure.
