Chapter 7

The truth behind the betrayal and confession had been discovered...

"By the way, regarding the orders you gave me, Sasori-sama. After transferring to his new body, Orochimaru used a barrier seal to protect his former vessel. I was unable to retrieve a cell sample from it." Sasori responded, "I see." Kabuto's eyes narrowed for only a moment, "Sasori-sama, apologies if this is out of place, but were you followed?"

"What the hell is he doing?! Why hasn't he given the signal?!" Shikamaru told Naruto, "The signals were only meant to tell us to come down if Kabuto found out or if Kabuto was followed by Orochimaru. Plus, now that we know it's Kabuto, the situation might have changed for us."

Sasori thought, 'He is one of my spies after all.' "Followed? What kind of amateur do you think I am to be unintentionally followed?" Kabuto swallowed, realizing it's very possible he's overstepping a dangerous line, "Then, was it intentional?" Sasori reached for one of the scrolls behind him. Kabuto, knowing his jutsu, put a foot back in case he needed to start running or jump off the bridge into the water below. Then he noticed it.

"You seem to be having an interesting conversation, mind if I join in?" Kabuto jumped away, towards Sasori, right before Orochimaru's snakes wrapped around him. Kabuto was thankful for Sasori's actions giving him a warning but was still unsure who Sasori was planning to use his puppets on. "Thank you, Sasori-sama, if it wasn't for your warning I wouldn't have been able to escape in time." Orochimaru smiled, "Ahh Sasori, seeing you like this, it really takes me back." Sasori ignored his comment, "You tailed Kabuto." Orochimaru responded, "What's with that tone? I simply wanted to thank you. To develop a new jutsu I would need hundreds of bodies to experiment on, but thanks to him, I can use a single one countless times. Which helps considering how hard it is to get test subjects."

"What do we do?!" Shikamaru answered, "We need to continue waiting for the signal."

Sasori gave the signal just as Kabuto turned around and attacked him. Sasori dodged by moving back, a glare in his eyes. The leaf ninja all jumped down and Orochimaru looked like he was ready to start laughing. Kabuto rejoined Orochimaru and stood at the snake's side while looking over who they'd be fighting. It would be a lie to say that Kabuto liked his chances, 'An Akatsuki member, two jonin, a jinchuriki, a root member, and four chunin. Orochimaru is strong but I'm not sure we can take on these odds.' Although, Kabuto smirked when he saw Naruto, "You again, huh?" Orochimaru looked excited, "Haha, I've seen that face many times. And the kyuubi child is here too? Haha! Why don't we have a little fun? Then, I'll finally get to see who's stronger, you or Sasuke."

Naruto growled at Orochimaru's words, "Give Sasuke back!" Kabuto mocked, "It's not a matter of us 'giving' anything. Here, I'll explain it to you, Sasuke came to us under his own free will. It's about time you get over it and start taking the past for what it really is, just like a real shinobi would." Sakura yelled, "Shut your mouth, four eyes! Quit acting like you know a damn thing about Naruto's feelings! I've had more than enough of your attitude!" Nine tails chakra started to leak out of Naruto and Shikamaru tried talking to him, "Naruto, don't do anything drastic. He's just trying to get under your skin." Orochimaru's next move made Naruto lose it, "If you want us to tell you about Sasuke-kun, why don't you try forcing us to say something? If you can, that is." Naruto went into his first tail form and attacked Orochimaru, sending Orochimaru flying back and breaking part of the bridge. Sakura looked on, shocked, 'Naruto...! Is this...?!' Sai was trying to find a label for what he was seeing and started moving for his sword. Shikamaru started moving back from Naruto thinking, 'If this is the nine tails, we all need to start getting out of its way.' Meanwhile, Yamato was thinking, 'So, it ended up happening just like I was told.' Kabuto looked over the situation and thought, 'The kyuubi's power is becoming ever stronger, no doubt.' Meanwhile, Sakura was frozen, looking on at her friend in fear.
