Sakura stood in the center of the empty training ground. Suddenly vines erupted from the ground, grabbing her limbs to lift her up. Without hesitation, Sakura yelled, "Kai," and disrupted the genjutsu. Kurenai hopped back down next to Sakura. Sakura said, "I'm sorry if this is disrespectful Kurenai-sensei, but are you sure this is where we should start? I've known how to release genjutsu since the academy." Kurenai sighed before saying, "Haruno-san, I understand this may seem like review for you, but this is a necessary step and you just recently left the hospital."
Sakura had a let down look on her face and looked to the ground. She thought back to the last time she even got to see Sasuke. '"If revenge is granted to me, what happens to me or to this world is nothing to me. I'll make it clear even now. I can't yet beat Itachi, and neither can Orochimaru. But if by giving my body to Orochimaru can give me the power to do that, I'd give my life. Again and again." "Crying... won't bring him back to us... I'm st-still with you... We'll g-get st-stronger... t-together!"' She had felt so helpless for the first time in so long. During her training with Tsunade she had two things motivating her to continue moving forward, bringing Sasuke back and... '"Naruto, this... this is m-my wish of a li-lifetime... please... please bring Sasuke back... I couldn't do it! I... I couldn't stop him! So now... now the only person who can... s-stop him... s-save him... is you... j-just you... Naruto."' Sakura never wanted to feel that helpless again. Her pride would never let her admit it, but she hated what she'd said that day, because her begging Naruto like that made it clear to her just how worthless she was.
"Haruno-san, I didn't-" Kurenai started, pity clear in her voice. Sakura looked back up at Kurenai, "Kurenai-sensei, I feel much better, you don't have to worry. But please understand the situation I'm in. If I'm going to catch up, I need to learn more than how to release genjutsu." Kurenai was about to say something but Sakura cut her off, "I don't want to be a liability ever again!" Kurenai still had a look of slight concern on her face and couldn't help but see a certain young Hyuga. However, she also saw the girl's will of fire and couldn't stop herself from smiling. "Alright, but be sure not to push yourself too hard." Sakura responded with a certain and loud, "Hai!"

Kakashi started, "There are five basic types of chakra used for jutsu." Naruto asked, "Just five?" Kakashi ignored him, continuing, "Fire, wind, water, lightning, and earth. These five elements are the foundation of all jutsu, and the reason the five great countries are named as they are." Naruto mumbled, "Huh... cool." Yamato explained, "Most people's chakra naturally lean towards a certain nature. The Uchiha clan, for example, were filled with people with an affinity for fire, thus, they were exceptionally skilled with fire element jutsu." Kakashi added, "Those matched with wind are good with wind element jutsu, lightning, with lightning element. Chidori is a lightning-element jutsu, for example." Naruto asked, "So Sasuke has access to both fire and lightning, then?" Kakashi pulled something out of his kunai bag as he answered, "Yes, you, on the other hand, have zero." He showed Naruto a six by six slip of paper, "So we're going to give you one, starting with these cards." Naruto commented, "Cards?" The paper then crumpled into itself and Naruto looked utterly confused. "If you have an affinity for lightning, the paper gets crumpled." Kakashi pulled out a handful of similar sheets of paper while saying, "Wind affinity, it gets cut in half. Fire, it burns. Water, it gets wet. Earth, it crumbles to dust." Kakashi handed a card to Naruto, "It's a unique type of paper that reacts to even the slightest amount of chakra. It's made from trees that are fed and nurtured with chakra for a long time. Channel some of your chakra into it and we'll know it's nature immediately." Naruto looked at it, "Okay," before focusing his chakra into it. Kakashi responded, "Huh," at the newly cut in half card. Kakashi continued, "Well then, wind-nature manipulation training it is then."
