@estherkoop: "Officially meet our two new teenagers, Shepherd and Shiloh! Shepherd is 13, turning 14 on April 9th and Shiloh is 12, turning 13 on June 18th! Shepherd and Shiloh have been in the foster care system for seven years, the majority of their lives. Shepherd and Shiloh were both terrified of being separated from each other since they are the only family each other have and they were also afraid of turning 18 without a forever family. When you turn 18 in the foster care system, you are on your own with no help. A year ago, Shepherd and Shiloh's biological parents lost their parental rights after a long drawn out court proceeding and they were in a foster home that wasn't the best. On December 27th, Shepherd and Shiloh came into our home with very short notice. Shepherd and Shiloh were unsafe at their other foster home and needed a place to stay for a week. We gave Shepherd and Shiloh a small little After Christmas Christmas and they felt so loved and happy. Shepherd and Shiloh both instantly connected with all of us and it was amazing. It felt like they were was meant to ours! In February, the courts asked @darienkoop and I if we would interested in adopting Shepherd and Shiloh and we both instantly said yes! Shepherd and Shiloh gave us the biggest smiles when they both found out they were finally being adopted and by us! Both Shepherd and Shiloh are both counting down the days until adoption day and so are we! We officially have an adoption date which is April 29th, two months earlier then we expected it to be! We are so blessed and thankful!
