Chapter 18

~Clint's POV~

Has the world gone mad? Why is pirate so obsessed with this? With him? Now that I think about it, Natasha has a point. The Spider-dude has done nothing wrong from what I could tell. Why the hell is Tony and Fury so angry over someone who is literally worthy of leading a realm? Like the kid picked up Thor's hammer! 

Speaking of Thor, he got really freaked out after the whole incident and went back to Asgard. Everyone is pretty much just done with Nick though. The pirate has been talking complete bullshit and coming up with excuses of how we still need to think that Spider-man is a bad guy. Tony has the press on his back still with the Lady who had a heart attack. Apparently he's going to court for it, the lady's nephew is really upset. Can't blame him though. 

An alarm rung through my ear's making me wince. The alarm was a subtle yet annoying ringing sound whenever there was an important Avengers meeting. I reached over and pulled the handle to my door. Outside my room-the corridor was met with Natasha, Bruce, Sam and me, all walking towards the stairs. The team looked at each other, bored, shrugged, and made their way to the conference room. I climbed up the stair's, glancing at the other's expression's. Nat was blank, like always, just with a patient yet scary look. Sam looked worried though, he always takes mission's as serious as possible. Sparing a look at Bruce, the guy looked a bit clueless. Probably because he normally get's involved before getting called up for a meeting.

Entering the large room, I twitched my nose at the bleach smell that stung my nose slightly. It was dark outside the large window, taking up the whole left side of the room, but a modern chandelier brightening up the large space. I strolled over to the clear glass table and took a seat in the middle left of the rectangular shape. Wanda, Rodgers, Rhodey and Bucky all walked in at once. 

Tony was standing up at the end of the table, with Natasha sitting right at the other end. Steve was sitting happily and curiously next to Tony, looking up at him. 

"Let's get right to the point. The other day, Spider-man has impressively hacked into FRIDAY's server's. He sent me a message, saying how he want's our help in taking down a supposed criminal, Norman Osborne. In the past few day's I've been researching about Osborne and yes, it was true he has escaped prison in the last 6 months." He picked up a silver, expensive pen off the table and started looking it over to ease his nerves. "Spidey tried contacting us again after I refused his help but unfortunately his hacking skills were good enough to block me out from tracking his line. I called you here to discuss what our next move is." I scrunched up my face in confusion. I jerked my head, staring at the rest of team. Natasha was just as confused as I was, but more angry. Wanda looked worried, she looked down at her lap.

"Why are you refusing him? And why the fuck did we not know about this sooner. Elaborate please" Nat spoke sternly, folding her arms, sounding threatening and demanding.

"Actually- for your information, hacking into my system is not the way he should be contacting us. He told us Norman Osborne is planning to bomb the city to gain control and power over people. I personally don't buy it, it's a trap. Spidey wants us to think he's a hero to later defeat us. He hasn't given evidence anything is really going to happen." He answered back smugly, to gain back more control over the conversation. Stark leaned forward, putting his hands on the table and glared at the woman sitting on the other side of the table.  

"He would probably give you evidence if you gave him a chance Stark. What if there's actually a bomb attack on New York? You're gonna risk that? How are you still so against the idea that we might be on the wrong side here, that Spider-man has been a good guy all along. Doesn't all the evidence point to that?" She stood up to, to meet eye level with the man across the room. Her red hair in her face.
