A/n: Y/N'S canonical appearance is mentioned in this chapter. There is a reason for this, please be patient!
=====It annoyed Saiki to no end that he could not weave through all of Y/n's thoughts and find one distinct one. He wanted to watch out for her since she seemed suspicious about the snake situation, and that would usually be pretty easy because he could read people's minds, but her mind specifically was a challenge he had never tackled before. It was also suspicious that he could actually see what she looked like.
In case you missed the split second mention of it in the second episode, Saiki sees most people like those anatomy dolls that they use in science classes.
Anyway, he can actually see Y/n. No muscles and veins. Just skin. He could see every mole and freckle, her pink eyes, bright red hair. He had to admit, she was pretty, but who did he have to compare her to anyway?
He wanted to know what was so different about her, but it was too risky to simply ask her. He didn't even know if she was aware of it, so he stayed silent, but watched her as closely as he could.
That lead him to his current situation.
He noticed that Y/n lived somewhat close to him. A block away, actually, so far enough that he didn't constantly hear her hundreds of people worth of thoughts. Enough, though, that she was walking outside his house one day, on the weekend when there was no school. Deciding that it was the perfect time to see what was different about her, he left and followed her to... the library.
Much less exciting than than he thought. He did not take her for the kind of girl to enjoy casually going to the library. She was pretty sociable, and you don't tend to think people like that would enjoy how quiet and calm libraries are.
Saiki followed her inside and made sure to be a few bookshelves away from her as she ran her fingers along the spines of each one she passed. She hummed a random tune, her mind never stopping to take a breath as it ran wildly with thoughts. Saiki wished he could enjoy the quiet of libraries, but specially with Y/n there, it was always loud with thoughts. Mostly others reading books in their heads, the words all jumbling together into a mess of literature.
He tried to read her thoughts as he watched her wade through the isles and isles of books, but no luck, as always. He had been non-stop trying for about a month, and had never been able to get one coherent thought out of her head. He was starting to think it was impossible, but since she seemed suspicious of the strange situation that happened the first day, he did not give up.
You may be wondering why Saiki would be so hooked up on something that happened a month ago. Well, it alarmed him that anyone could sense the strangeness of the world he had created. He was sure that he had covered every track of the world changing, and had made almost everyone dumb enough to disregard any strange happenings around them, but then came Y/n. The one even that caused her to question reality did not only haunt her thoughts, but Saiki's as well, and thus, she haunted his nightmares.
Not only that, he sensed that she was noticing other things as well.
He took a look through her notebook that day. He could see through the cover and a few pages of it with his powers, and saw what she had written down about the snake situation that happened earlier in the day.
"Something strange happened in my classroom today. I always knew something was a little off about, well, something. I was never sure what it was, and I guess this didn't help me figure it out either, but it did prove to me that my suspicion was right.
It's weird, right? That there was a deadly snake in our classroom. They said it had gotten loose from the local zoo, but why and how did it get into a school without anyone noticing? And the boy who's sleeve it slithered out from. Either he is numb from the neck down, or it is impossible that he did not notice a snake in his clothes.
I noticed that Saiki had disappeared when the Kaido boy left the class. I did not see him leave, though. I would have heard him move from behind me, but nothing. the room felt different without him in it. It's strange, but he just has this aura that is different from others.
Then, there's the snake turning into fried chicken before our very eyes. Even if Kaido did have powers like everyone else seemed to think (Though I don't believe that. Anyone with powers would be smart enough to hide them so they would not become government guinea pigs), how the hell would someone have powers? There is something weird in this world that no one else seems to be aware of. I only wish someone else knew too, so I would not feel so stupid and hopeless."
It was kind of hard to read, as her hand writing was pretty sloppy. It probably did not help that she wrote it pretty fast, trying to get her thoughts on paper as fast as she could. Once they were written down, Saiki noticed that her thoughts were very slightly quieter. He guessed that she stopped thinking about the situation once it was written down. He wished she wrote down all of her thoughts so that he could finally read a specific one, but it would have taken forever to do so anyway. You think he would stop worrying about her noticing the strange happenings since she soon stopped thinking about it, but he saw that there were other entries in that journal she had, and all of them were about the world being strange. This worried him even further.
Lost in his own thoughts, he finally noticed Y/n was at the check out counter, a pile of books and movies in front of her, getting rung up by the old man who was running the library. The old man noted the age of all the movies and books, being around the time he was born. Old, to put it simply. Y/n thanked the man before leaving with her hefty bag of books clutched in her dominant hand.
Saiki followed after her, sure that she was up to something. What she could be up to, he didn't know, but assumed it had something to do with her noticing how strange things were compared to the world she had in her head.
Y/n looked over her shoulder every five minutes, Saiki noticed, and had been since he started following her. Finally, they reached her house, and he did not want to be more of a stalker than he already was, so he left her to her own devices. He was not that desperate... Yet
