The news appeared as incessant flashes. No matter how much they changed the channel, the headlines were all the same. "Greenwood Enterprises helicopter still missing"; "A desperate search is being conducted in the Rocky Mountains"; "Shocking news for the hotel industry". Those harsh letters in bright red or yellow did nothing but aggravate the concern on the faces of those who were in that place.

Both families reunited as soon as they were informed about the loss of track on the radar, meeting at the Y/L/N residence. The wives comforted each other, while their children were scattered in the different armchairs in front of the television. The tension was almost tangible, as the eyes of those present went from one side to another. Looking at each other, at the tv, at the ground or wherever it may be. Occasionally one would stand up and start doing what seemed like olympic laps in the living room. No phone rang.

"This is madness." Ria said while going from one side to another. "He should've never been on that helicopter..." She mumbled once more.

"We still don't know what happened." Her mother said. "We'll have to wait..."

The room fell silent for one more minute. The voice of some newscaster was a faint sound in the distance. An eternal minute had to pass before one of the telephones finally rang.

Terrified of the news they might hear, none of the wives dared to answer. Instead, one of the security men did. Peter - who had worked for the family for almost twenty years- was the one who, taking a little distance, answered the call.

"Ms. Y/L/N" He said returning to where everyone was waiting.

"They've found the helicopter ... But I'm afraid I don't have good news." He added. A symphony of sobs and wailing invading the place in that instant.

"Thank you very much Peter." She said, allowing him to go. On the other side of the room, her friend comforted her children. Walking towards one of the armchairs, she tried to do the same with her family.

Y/N stood up, giving her mother her place. She looked at her confused, but Y/N just nodded her head, then left the room for the kitchen where Peter was.

"Y/N..." He said in a whisper; their eyes filling with tears. Getting closer, they melted into a hug. Peter was a great friend of her father and the family. He was a second father to Y/N. And she knew that he loved her as a daughter too.

"What did they say?" She asked in a low voice as they separated.

"No crew survived the impact." He said. "They suspect the cause was a technical failure. The bodies are expected to arrive in New York first thing tomorrow morning."

"Okay." She said. "Everything should be ready by then..."

" I'll make sure of that..." He stated, letting her know he'd take care of the matter.

"Thank you." She said in a low voice.

"Thank you so much." She added, and after a big sigh got out of there.

"Henry will arrive from London first thing in the morning." Ria, his sister announced, after finishing what seemed to be a call.

'Henry', Amelia repeated in her head. She had absolutely forgotten everything about him. Fifteen years without seeing or knowing from him, beyond what she could hear his parents or siblings commenting on. She didn't even remember what his face looked like now. Y/n thought she might had last seen him on the cover of some gossip magazine. Although over the years she began to ignore it, and ignore any kind of news about him. Her heart stopped for a second when she thought that perhaps, after so many years she would see him again.

The rain poured more than ever that day, starting at dawn it hadn't stopped a second. It seemed as if the weather was almost as saddened as they were. Expressing its grief through the thick drops of water that soaked everyone's black clothes. At least a dozen black umbrellas rose to the sky, trying to protect what had inevitably gotten wet already. A parade of expensive, fur-covered suits unfolded around the coffin. Both families were wearing sunglasses, because they knew what was waiting for them outside. Even in such a delicate and private moment, they were not allowed to carry their mourning in peace. About twenty cameras from different media outlets were waiting outside the private cemetery for the businessman's family and friends to leave, to photograph and hopefully get a statement from them.

The Y/L/N family was on the right side, standing side by side. Mrs. Y/L/N was the first of them, followed by her youngest daughter Luna, who clung tightly to her waist. Along with her Leo -the only boy in the family- at twelve years old was standing between his sisters. Holding back the tears, taking deep breaths and not looking away from what was standing before him. Beside him, Y/N, the oldest daughter in the family.
