(Y/n's POV)
I hear my alarm going off and I quickly shut it off. I groan as I sit up. It's the first day of school and I still feel the same about it. Sugawara has tried to make me feel better about it the days before. Nothing he said would convince me to find any interest in it.
I get out of bed and start to get changed in the dark. I had set my uniform out the night before, knowing that if I didn't I would forget where it was. Once it was on I brushed my hair and put it into a messy bun. I don't feel the need or motivation to put on makeup. I walk out and go to the bathroom. I brush my teeth and practice smiling in the mirror. I give up trying and walk out. Mom's coat was gone meaning she was long gone off to work. I get myself a bowl of cereal and eat while playing games on my phone. I hear Sugawara's door open and I look back at him. He is in his uniform looking just as tired as me.
After our breakfast, we head out the door. I get in the passenger's seat and try to get as much sleep in as possible before school. Sugawara has his music on and jams to it quietly. I'm not one for small talk so neither of us says anything on the way there.
Once we were there Sugawara shook me awake. I yawned and grabbed my bag from my feet and got out of the car. Sugawara wishes me good luck on my first day of school and heads to the gym. I know where I'm going, but I still feel lost. Karasuno isn't a big school, the only thing that worried me is the people.
Once I find my classroom I sit down at my desk and rest my head in my hands.
(Kageyama's POV)
I walk into my classroom taking a deep breath. I sit in my seat next to a (h/c) haired girl sleeping. At least I think she's sleeping. I couldn't see her face because it was turned toward the window. I don't care to check and just look ahead of me. The people in this class all seem stupid and immature. So, they're annoying people. Great. I'm glad I chose to sit next to a girl who doesn't even talk.
I hear the bell and get ready for class. The girl next to me slowly sits herself up still looking tired and unmotivated to do anything. Then I see her (e/c) eyes. It's the girl from the store. Of course, she had to go here. Just my luck. I doubt she remembers me. So I think I'll be fine.
(Y/n's POV)
Class is started when I pier at the boy sitting next to me. His raven hair and blue eyes are very easy to remember. This is the guy from the store! Crap! Maybe he doesn't remember me. Who am I kidding? Who wouldn't remember a girl falling on you? God damn it! It's one thing to go to the same school, but the same class? Plus, he sits next to me! I'm screwed.
I try to ignore his presence and pay attention to the teacher taking attendance. I try to remember the people in my class but after a while, I give up.
"Kageyama Tobio," the teacher calls out.
"Here," the guy sitting next to me says. Kageyama? That's his name. Interesting. I don't know why it is. I just feel drawn to him in a way. No (y/n). No.
"(Y/n)," the teacher calls out blankly just like the rest. A bit boring.
"Here."
(Kageyama's POV)
So that's her name. I don't know why I care. It's not like we would talk at all.
During lunch, I go to the vending machine to get some milk. As I am reaching down for it I see someone out of the corner of my eye peeking around the corner. I try to ignore them and drink my milk against the vending machine, not wanting to go back to the hell hole they call a classroom.
The person is still there, looking at me.
"What do you want?" I call out. I must have scared them because they disappear from the corner. I want to go after them, but it's not worth my time. At least they're gone now.
