(Y/n's POV)It's been about three weeks since my suspension. Stares are all I get from people. It's been hard but I've pushed through it. Tobio has been a big help. Every time I would feel anxious or anything more during class I would grab his hand just like he told me to do. His touch helps calm me down more than I thought it would. But at the same time, my heart beats faster but not because of all the people. Ever since that night, I would get so nervous around him. I would tell him how I feel but I don't think I'm ready.
Volleyball has been going a lot better. I've gotten to know the other guys more, but still keep my distance. Tsukishima sometimes teases me about the day he walked in on me singing, but never loud enough for others to hear. In most of the practices, I watch Tobio set the ball to Hinata or Tanaka. It's amazing watching them play, even just in practice.
They had a practice match not that long ago with Aoba Johsai. It was a fun game to watch. The team was really good, but there was one guy on the team that caught my eye. I don't remember his name, but he made all the other girls swoon for him. Kind of annoying if you ask me. But his serve was what caught my eye, not his looks. Well, maybe his hair too, but that's it. His serves and sets were crazy to me. I think I wasn't the only one who thought that because Tobio seemed so irritated about it.
When Suga and I arrived at the gym this morning along with Tanaka and Daichi Kageyama and Hinata were already there with this other guy I have never seen before. He was short, I think shorter than Hinata. He had a blonde streak in his brown hair. Whatever they were talking about he seemed pretty excited about it.
"Oh! Hey Nishinoya!" Sugawara said waving his hand. The guy-Nishinoya- turned to look at us and waved back with a wide smile on his face. They got into conversation while I was trying my best to go unnoticed.
"Hey! Who are you?" Nishinoya asks pointing at me while I stood behind Sugawara. I peeked from behind him, stuttering with my words.
"Uh-(Y-y/n). N-nice to m-meet you," I say reaching my hand out to shake his. He takes it, aggressively shaking it. I pull my hand away and look at the floor.
"Wait! You're the girl who got suspended because you punched some other girl!" He shouts pointing at me once again. I stiffen at his words. I was just started to forget.
"Well, I didn't punch her. It was more of a slap," I say quietly, itching the back of my head.
"It was still badass!" He exclaims not lowering his voice at all. Wow, he's just like Hinata.
"No, it certainly was not," Sugawara said glaring at Nishinoya and then at me. Why me? He was the one who said it! Nishinoya cowards down holding up his hands blocking himself from Sugawara.
"Yep, totally! Not cool!" He shouts with his eyes squeezed his eyes shut and hands shaking like jazz fingers. Wow, Sugawara looks like a mom. It sends shivers up my spine.
While Suga is lecturing Nishinoya, I sneak over to stand next to Tobio. We look at each other, scared of what Sugawara will yell about next.
After the lecture, Nishinoya stands up straight and puts on another bright smile.
"So is Asahi back yet?" Nishinoya asked. Who's that? Oh yeah! He's another third year! I don't know much about him, but I definitely forgot about him. Why isn't he here? The others give Nishinoya a look that says no.
Nishinoya's smile is wiped off and replaced with an angry one. What? What's this about?
"Damn coward," he says under his breath, but loud enough for us to hear.
"Noya have some respect for your upperclassmen!" Tanaka shouts at him. I'm so lost. What the hell happened with this Asahi guy? Nishinoya says some other things but I'm too confused and wrapped in my own head to listen. Remembering that I should be paying attention I snap out of my head.
