(Kageyama's POV)

Thursday. Two more days until we have to have the three on three. This morning was slow and tiring. I woke up at 4:30 a.m. and tripped on my school books on the floor in the dark. I know I'm going to get at least a small bruise from that. I took a shower, brushed my teeth. I honestly didn't feel like doing anything with my hair. It's too early to care about that stuff. I grabbed a protein bar and headed out the door. It was somewhat of a cold morning.

As I walk walking a car pulled over next to me. I looked to see who it was, only to be greeted by Sugawara and (y/n).

"Hey, want a ride?" Sugawara asked. I can walk, but honestly riding in a car sounds a lot better. (Y/n) is sleeping in the front seat. At least I think so. She's so elegant when she sleeps. I shrug my shoulders

"Why not," I reply. I get in the back seat and buckle up. The drive is quiet. (Y/n) shifts around and wakes up slightly. She senses my presence and turns to look at me. She glares at Sugawara.

"Why the hell didn't you tell me?" She whispers to him. She acts like I can't hear. Personally, I don't think she cares.

"I thought you were awake. Sorry! I thought I would be nice to him," Sugawara responds in a whisper. She rolls her eyes and looks straight ahead at the road. Sugawara nudges her with his shoulder. I see him raise his eyebrows at her making her smile. She must have done it on accident because then she glares at him. Sugawara laughs as he turns the corner. (Y/n) plugs her phone in the aux and plays some music. She turned it up, making it quite loud. I don't mind I guess, at least it's not my dad's music.

"Oh, by the way, I have a feeling we are going to work on syllables in English today," (y/n) says turning back to look at me. I groan and nod my head. God damn it. Why English? I don't need it! (Y/n) gives me a look and I stop complaining. She nods her head and turns back. Sugawara gives her a look and smirks. "Oh shut up," (y/n) groans. Did she understand that? They must have some secret language.

When we get the gym we set up the net and got practicing. I didn't want to wait for Hinata and Tanaka. I started with serves. Could use improvement. Then I worked on sets. (Y/n) would spike some of them. But she crapped out after four. I guess she isn't in volleyball, so she probably isn't used to exercising. She's really good for someone who doesn't play on a regular basis. I'm almost jealous.

"Suga, can I skip practices today? I don't think I'm going to handle people well today," (y/n) calls out after she dropped herself on the floor. Sugawara looks kind of disappointed, but understanding. He nods to her and she nods back. I wonder why he just let her do that? What does she mean when she says she "isn't going to handle people well today"? I'm not sure if I should ask. If I do I'll ask her when Hinata and Tanaka aren't here.

Sugawara warns us it's time to leave and we start to clean up. When we are done (y/n) comes with me to our class after we changed. She had her hair down today. I wonder why. I think to ask her about what she said in the gym.

"Um, not to overstep, but what did you mean in there? When you said you wouldn't handle people well today?" I finally ask about debating for a while. She looks at me not sure whether she should tell me or not. "I won't tell anyone."

"It's not obvious?" She asks. I shake my head. "I have really bad social anxiety. Some days I can tell when it will be at its worse," she answers.

"Why did you become the assistant manager then?" I ask. She shrugs. I guess she doesn't know herself.

"My mom made me join a club," she paused and shook her head, "I hate exercise and I can't draw or sing. I wanted something where I knew someone when I first started. I guess managing the boy's volleyball team is really my only option."
