The sun was about to set in the glade, and I was taking a walk just to clear my head. But then, Newt, my brother comes up to me. "Jill, where have you been?! You skipped dinner." He asks worryingly. "Ugh Newt. I'm fine. I just needed to clear my head." I retort. I love Newt and all, he's my brother, but he's too overprotective. That's why I haven't told him about Thomas and I dating. I know I'd get my butt kicked without question.

Newt finally wandered off to somewhere. So I went to get Thomas. I find him in the kitchen. "Thomas!" I yell. He turns around and approaches me. "Jill.." He says. "Thomas, listen, I can't tell Newt that we're dating." I say sadly. "Why not, Jill?! Are you ashamed to be dating me?!" He raises his voice. "No! That's not why! It's just Newts my brother and he's so overprotective-" Thomas cuts me off. "Jill, that's a really bad excuse. Can't you just tell me the truth??" He asks. Tears are now stinging my cheeks. I turn on my heel and run as fast as I can to the deadheads. Thomas didn't believe me! Why? I thought he trusted me. I guess not. The tears keep coming. I start to climb a tree, when I hear footsteps. I climb faster, but then someone with a British accent says,"Jill, what the bloody hell are you doing?!" Newt screams. "I'm mad. Don't talk to me, shuck face!" I yell. He looks hurt, but what do I care? He's my brother. He'll forgive me. Eventually.

But then, I lose my balance and fall off the branch. A horrible pain shoots through my arm and waist. I scrunch my face in pain. Then, Newt rushes over and picks me up bridal style. Slowly, I start slipping away from reality. And into the void of unconsciousness.

I wake up to Thomas staring at me. "Hi." he says quietly. "Hey." I whisper. "Listen, I'm really sorry about yesterday. I was just kinda mad that you didn't want to tell your brother." he apologized. "But I don't want you to tell him. Please." I beg. "Okay. Whatever makes you happy." He says, and kisses my forehead. But then, Newt walks in...
