Newt imagine For Mary

I was sitting at the bonfire next to Thomas and Minho. They were talking about something I honestly didn't care about. But I had something else on my mind. Newt. He's been avoiding me for the past week. We used to be best friends until he pushed me away.

"Mary" Someone called. I looked up to see Minho. "Hm" I say, still in my daze. "Well it's uh time for bed" he says, stretching. "Alright, I'll be there in a minute." I say, getting up and brushing myself off.

I walk to my hammock and take off my shoes. I'm getting comfortable and I shut my eyes, but I hear someone walk up to my hammock. Immediately regretting it, I open my eyes. The person who's standing there is someone I'd never expect. Newt. "Wha- what are you doing?" I whisper. He grabs my arm and I stumble after him.

"What the heck?!" I yell. "Shh.." He says, tightening his grip. "Okay tell me what's your problem!" I say, trying to get out of his grip. He stops walking and lets go of my hand.

"Listen, Mary the reason I've been ignoring you lately is that..." He stops talking, and takes a sharp breath. "Yeah... keep talking." I urge. "Well.. I um- like you.." He says awkwardly.

My eyes widen. "Re-really?!" I ask, shocked. He nods. "I thought you hated me.." I say quietly. "No! I don't hate you. Did you just hear me?" He says. I laugh and he does too. "Well.. I like you too." I say shyly. I look him in the eye and pull him into a hug. And then he pecks me on the lips. "Well.. I should get to bed." I say. He nods and we walk back to the homestead together.
