Lia Conrad

The guys and I were hanging out in my room watching a movie. Johnson had gone to the vending machine down the hall, and no one knows where Gilinsky is. I hope he just went out to go get some food or something. Everyone did wake up at twelve in the afternoon.
It was just getting to the best part of the movie when Johnson burst in, phone to his ear. Everyone turned to him, staring expectantly. He had a worried look on his face. I paused the movie.
"J-Jack. G-Gilinsky, he's, he's..." he stuttered.
"Come on Jack. Spit it out." I said, worried.
"He's in the hospital. He got into a car accident. That's why he's not here. Why they just called, I have no clue. But, we need to go. Now." Jack talked very quickly. As soon as those words came out of his mouth, everyone grew into a panic. Millions of thoughts filled my mind. What if he got in an accident because of me? Was he drinking? But, he wouldn't. Or would he? These thoughts raced through my brain like a tornado.

We all piled into the van to get to Jack as fast as we could. Johnson looked down at me with a worried but reassuring look.
"It'll be okay." He said to me. He kissed the top of my head and I laid my head on his shoulder.

When we got to the hospital, we all rushed inside. I escaped Jack's arms and practically flew to the front desk.
"Hello." the lady at the front desk gave me a smile. "Can I help you?"
"Yes. What room is Jack Gilinsky in?" I said between breaths. She looked at her computer.
"He's in room 214 upstairs. But, he's only requesting certain visitors. We'll tell him that you're here."
"And my friends too?" I pointed back at them. All of them pacing back and forth.
"Of course. And what's all of your names?" I told her all of our names. She flashed me a big smile and picked up the phone. I nod and wait until she hangs up.
"The doctor said he'll be right down to tell you who he wants to see and give you the 411 on his situation."
"Thank you so much." I smiled and returned to the boys. I took my seat next to Jack. He had his head in his hands, obviously worried about his best friend. I moved closer to him and started to gently rub his back to calm him. I could feel him shaking like he was scared or nervous or both. Like everyone else was.

After waiting for what felt like hours but yet only 5 minutes, the doctor called me up to him. I walked up to the doctor and gave him a small smile.
"Ahh. You must be Lia." I nod. "Alright. So, Jack was in a car accident at about 4:30 this morning. It was pretty bad." my face turned to shock. "We found alcohol in his system. But good news is, no internal injuries. Just a few broken bones." He smiled. I must have been really tuned in because once he was done, I noticed all of the boys had crowded around and started to listen.
"Who does he want to see?" Johnson asked with a shaky voice.
"He wants to see Lia." He smiled once more. Everyone looked at me. Jack pulled me aside by my arm.
"Lia, stay strong in there. He might say things that you don't want to hear okay?" I nod. Tears well up in my eyes. Jack reaches up and wipes them. "Stop. Now, go talk to him." he kisses me on the top of my head, gives me a hug and pushes me off.
"Come on now, Lia." the doctor gave me, once more, a pearly white smile.

I stepped into the hospital room. I looked over and I saw him, laying there. Just watching some lame hospital tv show that he probably didn't even like. The doctor left and closed the door. I know he heard us come in because he turned pale when the door opened. I wonder, if he doesn't love me, then why does he act like he cares?

Jack Gilinsky

I heard the door open and in the corner of my eye, I saw the beautiful Lia and the doctor walk into the room. She tensed and I turned pale. I just sat there. Keeping my, "I don't love you" act on and watching some lame hospital tv show I didn't even like. It was just something to do. She sat down in the chair next to my bed.
"Hey Jack." she spoke. Her voice low but still the beautiful voice I used to wake up to. I turned the tv off and turned to look at her.
"Hi Lia. How are you?"
"Why were drinking?" She asked. I looked into her eyes. They were glossy with tears. I knew this question was coming from any one person and I knew I would have to tell the answer.
"I just wanted to have some fun..." I trailed off.
"Jack. You and I both know that you wouldn't just go out drinking 'for fun'. Now cut the act. What's really going on?" This was the time to tell her and frankly, I was done lying. I really was. And she needs to know why I did this and she deserves to know the truth. I really do love her still and she needs to know.
"Lia, I did it because I found out you and Jack were dating." there was an awkward silence.
"Wha-what?" she stammered. Clearly confused.
"I found out you were dating and it made me angry. Yeah, you think I wouldn't care because I 'don't love you anymore' Well, all of that was a lie. A huge lie. I got jealous. And you being here, the pain was too much for me. I needed to do something to forget you."
"J-jack. So, you saying you didn't love me-"
"It was all an act." I cut her off. "I told Jack that so he would stop doing things to cheer me up."
"Well, isn't it better to have someone to go through this with you instead of doing it alone?"
"That's not the point, Lia. The point is that, I still love you and I always will."

I feel like this moved too fast.
