Listen to Tenerife Sea while you read. Idk why that would be relevant but just do it.

"Okay, now close your eyes." Jack said as we were about to pull up to the place. Wherever it was.
"But Jack." I said stretching out the a. "I want to know." I said while I had my eyes closed and my arms crossed. I started to get impatient.
"Just hold on. We're almost there, I promise." I felt the car come to a halt. "Don't. Move." Jack said as he got out of the car. I nodded, becoming more and more excited and nervous.
After about 5 minutes, I heard my door open and felt Jack grab onto my hand. My eyes still covered but now by Jack's hands. I felt my feet sink into warm sand and I heard the sound of waves crashing and the smell of salt was in the air.
"Alright you can open your eyes now." He said with excitement in his voice. He removed his hands from my face and I was lost for words when I saw the most simple but best thing anyone has ever done for me.

I knew that she would love this because she always told me that she wanted this. A picnic on the beach.
I had been planning this for a long time but never actually did it. Even before we broke up, I was planning. But never was able to do it. The look on her face confirmed my thoughts. She liked it. She loved it. I could tell just by her face.
Her face.
She was beautiful. No, gorgeous. No one ever looked as stunning as her. Even if she was in just jeans and a t- shirt, she always found ways to make me fall in love with her over and over again. No one has ever made me feel this way before.
Absolutely no one.

Jack and I sat down on the soft picnic blanket, gusts of wind blowing hair in my face. Jack packed peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with an assortment of my favorite snacks.
"You know, you've always made the best sandwiches." I said as I took a bite out of my sandwich.
"Oh really?" He laughed.
"Would I lie?"
He thought for a moment. "No. No you wouldn't." He smirked. He paused. "So, what do you think? Is it too much?" He asked.
"Oh God no Jack. This is the best thing that anyone has ever done for me." I smiled. "It's perfect."
"Well then I guess you and this picnic have something in common." He smirked. He set his PB & J down and scooted closer to me. He held my face in his hands and slowly leaned in. His lips connected with mine and fireworks went off. He pulled away and our foreheads pressed together.
"I love you, Lia." He whispered.
"I love you too, Jack." I whispered back.
"You know I would do anything to make you happy."
"I know." I smiled and pecked his lips. "But, I love you more." I smirked.
"I beg to differ." He laughed and I joined in.

We spent the next few hours at the beach just talking and looking at the stars.
"Are you ready to go?" Jack asked me.
I sucked in a deep breath. "I don't know if I want this night to end." he grabbed my hand.
"There will be more. Trust me." he gave me a kind smile. He rushed to my side of the car and opened the door for me.
"I am quite capable of opening my own door, thank you." I joked.
"I know, I know." He laughed and got in on the driver's side. He grabbed my hand and held it as he was driving, just like we used to.
"So, are we okay now?" he asked nervously.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, do you forgive me?" He took in a big breath. "And are we, you know, together now?" I thought for a moment before responding.

As I asked the question, I got butterflies in my stomach. It seemed like we were dating before this date. I laughed in my head at my own thoughts. She took a while to answer. I was wondering if maybe I shouldn't have asked. I glanced over at her. She looked nervous. I felt my hands getting clammy, but I still held onto her hand. Everything inside me loved her even more when she said the one word:

"Yes."
