Skylars P.O.V.

When we got to Jacobs house I was still bawling my eyes out.

He grabbed my bags and walked me inside, and we sat on the couch.

He grabbed me in his arms and tried to calm me down by saying 'shh', sofltly.

Around an hour later, I was all drained out. No more tears would come out of my eyes.

"I'm so sorry Skylar." Jacob whispers to me, still cuddling with me.

I sniffle. "I feel awful, he probably doesn't love me anymore... I abandoned him..." I say, still so sad.

"Skylar, you did what you thought was best for you, and you still have a chance to fix your relationship." He told me.

I thought for a moment. What could fix this....

I've ruined everything.

*Two months later*

I'm now living with Jacob at his house in Cali'.

Shawn used to text me everyday two months ago.... Begging for my forgiveness.

But I never replied....

And now....

He never texts at all.

I miss him so much, he's my bestfriend... And I love him.

"Skylar?" Jacob snapped me out of my thoughts.

We are eating lunch at a food court in our local mall.

"Sorry, just, tired." I say. He nods.

My record label is going okay, I published my song 'You're Perfect' onto iTunes and it went to 3rd on top charts.

My mom is really proud of me, but sad.

She's sad because of what happened to Shawn and I. She says it's not my fault but.... I know she lied.

"Come on let's go home." Jacob says.

When we get back to his house we go sit on the couch as usual.

"Skylar, can I ask you something?" He asks.

"Sure." I say quietly.

He looks down at his fit, as I watch him from the opposite side of the couch.

"I've been waiting for the right time to ask you..." He starts. I just listen.

"I was wondering... Would you wanna go out on- on a date?" He stutters.

I look at him shocked.

"A-a date?" I question. He nods.

I think for a while.

This whole thing with me and Shawn was for us to try new things... Date new people.

"Sure." I finally say, trying to sound enthusiastic.

Trust me, I really like Jacob, a bit more than a friend but... Something still doesn't feel right.

*Five months later*

I am now 19 years old.

Jacob and I have been dating for about 4 and a half months now.

He's been really sweet and supportive. Gladly, somehow nobody had figured out we are dating.

Or that Shawn and I broke up...

Jacob and I are walking along the sidewalk in the beautiful California weather.

He was holding my hand, and no one was around.

"This is nice." He comments, looking around.

"Yeah." I reply.

"Something wrong?" He stops walking and faces me.

I look down at the ground.

"I got a call this afternoon." I tell him.

"From who?" He questions. I take a deep breath.

"Shawn." I state. He looks at me. "What did he.. Say?" Jacob asked slowly.

"He- he was wondering if I could meet him at our place at 6:30pm." I tell him.

"Our place?" Jacob says, hearing that I called Shawn's house 'our place'.

"I mean.." "I know what you mean Skylar." He cuts me off.

"You love him." He states.

I look down again. "I'm sorry." I apologize.

"I understand." He says.

"I'll see you later." He says, knowing I am going to see Shawn.

I walk up to Shawn's house, which used to be mine as well.

I take a deep breath and gently knock on the door.

A few moments later, it slowly opens... Revealing the boy I fell in love with.
