Chapter 28 - Sudden encounter

With Hinata and Sasuke

Right now they were climbing a cliff for a better view.

"Ahh!" Hinata slipped and almost fell, but Sasuke caught her wrist.

"You should be more careful, you are a ninja too," said coldly Sasuke. He hadn’t time for this.

"I know, I'm sorry." Sasuke remembred that time he talked about her with Sakura.

"She’s too soft, like Naruto…"

... If only that didn’t change.

"As a ninja you should be more rough and cold. Enemies have to be scared of you," said Sasuke.

"That’s not my style, I never wanted to hurt people."

"Then why did you become a ninja? It doesn’t make any sense."

"My dad made me, I never wanted to be a ninja, but when I saw Naruto-kun how much he’s hardworking to make his dream come true, I wanted to be a ninja too."

"Huh, so it’s because of Naruto. You should be more confident in yourself. You are not doing this just for him, are you?"

"No, definitely not now. I wanted to change, to prove that my father was wrong about me, to be acknowledged in my clan!" said seriously Hinata.

"That’s better, now we are going to heal your Romeo…" Hinata ignored his last comment and used her Byakugan. She explored the area. They were in one of the places the herb was growing.

"You can make it!" thought Hinata when she was looking for it.

"Did you find something?"

"Wait a minute! I think I found it!"

"Really? That was fast…"

"I know, right? It’s this way!" 10 kilometres from them. It wasn’t so far away. But it was getting dark so they pulled out their sleeping bags and went to sleep. Next morning Sasuke was already awake. He went to go fishing so they have something for breakfast.

"Hmm, it smells nice."

"It’s just a fish. Eat it and we are going." Hinata did what he said. Then they went to find the herb. But they met someone on their way...

"Hmm, it’s like he’s hiding his chakra, what’s his problem?" thought Sasuke.

"Hey, sir, wait!" That someone turned around.

"No, no, no, Sasuke and Hinata?!"  thought Naruto. He was running away.

"Hey, wait!" Sasuke ran after him. Then he caught up with Naruto.

"Hey!" He caught his cloak.

"Shit!" thought Naruto.

"Naruto!" said Sasuke.

"What are you doing here?!" asked Naruto.

"You should be in that stupid village!"

"You mean the same village my brother sacrificed for and your father too?" Naruto grinned at him.

"What do you want? I’m not in the mood now!" said Naruto.

"At least you are acting normal. Where are you heading?"

"That’s not your business!"

"I still considere you as my friend. It is my business."

"That’s not my problem!"

"Naruto, let’s fight!" said Sasuke.

"Hmm? And why should I do that?!"

"If you want to kill me, do it! I just want to test my power! I can’t be worse than you!" said seriously Sasuke.

"Heh, you are right. I want to kill you!" Naruto wanted to attack him, but Hinata got in the way.

"What do you think you are doing?" asked Sasuke.

"Stop it, you two!"

"Tss, I have to kill you too then," said Naruto.

"Naruto?" Sasuke saw the coldness in his eyes. It was a pain. The pain Naruto had experienced all these years. Sasuke saved Hinata before Naruto could do something to her.

"Don't stand in my way, Sasuke!"

"That’s what I can’t, I can’t deprive you of her!"

"What are you talking about?"

"You've already killed the people who cared for you. In the end, you won’t have anyone!"

"That’s not my problem, I don’t need anyone!"

"That’s where you are wrong, loneliness is the worst enemy! You and I know better!" Naruto was quiet. He was thinking.

"Why did you save her? I don’t care about her."

"But she cares about you, idiot!"

"Don’t listen to him, Naruto, he’s just manipulating you!"

"Shut up for awhile, Kurama. I’m thinking now."

"... Care, she cares about me…" thought Naruto.

"Kurama, would you be sad if I died?"

"No."

"That hurts coming from you..."
