Chapter 6 - Chunin exams

"Kai!" Jiraiya released Naruto’s mind.

"Thanks-ttebayo, he did it again, didn’t he?" Jiraiya nodded.

"He does it often… more than before," thought Naruto.

"Nevermind, now I’ll teach you how to control Kyuubi’s chakra." Naruto agreed. Naruto had problems for a while, but he managed to control the red chakra flowing around him.

"Great, Naruto, you deserve a break!"

"Dattebayo!"

Naruto learned that Sakura and her team didn’t manage to steal other team their scroll and they even lost their scroll. They didn’t have Hinata who would be able to watch other teams and seek for other scrolls. Sakura doesn’t have these abilities.

Neji, Shikamaru, Temari, Gaara, Tenten who won against Ino, and some genins from the Hidden Sound Village made it to the finals.

Naruto trained hard all month. He even learned summoning jutsu. He can even do Rasengan even though it’s not so powerful like from his other half. Now he can control released red chakra. He is working on Hiraishin no jutsu, but he’ll work on it more after the finals. Jiraiya will teach him something about his nature chakra, but you’ll know more in the future. Now let’s look who’ll win this tournament.

"Oi, Sasuke!" Naruto greeted his friend.

"Hmm, Naruto." Sasuke went to sit on the bench.

"I’m invisible out of sudden or what?!" Naruto was irritated by Sasuke’s expression and went to sit next to him.

"I’m here too, Sasuke!"

"Shut up, I see you, dobe!"

"Sasuke, I-!"

"N-Naruto-kun, can I sit next to you?" asked Hinata.

"Oh, of course." Originally, Naruto held the place for Sakura, but he can’t say no to Hinata. Then came Sakura and sat next to Sasuke. Naruto was upset about it.

"She should sit next to me!" thought Naruto.

"Hinata, can I ask you something?" asked Naruto.

"O-of course."

"Why didn’t you want to attend the Chunin exams?"

"D-don't worry about it." Hinata was upset.

"Seems like she doesn’t want to talk about it," thought Naruto.

"If something’s bothering you, you can tell me-ttebayo!" said cheerily Naruto. He wanted to cheer her up.

"I-I’ll tell you someday…"

"All right, I won’t bother you anymore."

"Y-you are not bothering me, it’s just-."

"In this battle we’ll see Gaara vs. Hyuuga Neji!" Neji came to the battlefield. But he was all the time glaring at Hinata and Naruto noticed it.

"You are Hyuuga too, right? So you should be a friend with Neji."

"We are from the same clan, but we aren’t friends. Our clan is divided into two halves. The main house and the branch house. I am from the main house and Neji is from the branch house. He hates the main house and that’s why he’s so… so cold."

"I didn’t know that."

"You couldn’t…" Naruto let Hinata be and watched the battle. It was ranged attack and absolute defense vs. skilled taijutsu. Gaara won because Neji couldn’t get closer to him, but suddenly…

"That’s not enough!" said Gaara and caught Neji with his sand.

"Sand coffin!" But into the battlefield came Hiashi and saved Neji.

"Enough! The battle is over!" Hiashi felt still guilty about his brother’s death and wanted to make it up for Neji.

"Tss," Gaara muttered and left.

"Temari, Kankurou, we are going!" They nodded.

"Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura and Hinata, go after them!" yelled Kakashi and summoned Pakkun to help them. Hinata wasn’t so sure about that, but Naruto touched her shoulder.

"Don’t worry, it’ll be fine-ttebayo!" Hinata nodded and they set off on their way. Unlike Sakura, Hinata was very helpful. With her Byakugan she was exploring the surroundings and found their enemies before Pakkun.

"I-I see Gaara-san and two other shinobis...!"

"Really? I caught their scent, but I didn’t know exactly their position," said Pakkun. But someone ran after them. They suddenly stopped moving.
