Sunshine

Ok sorry in advance.

Just imagine...

Nico singing "you are my sunshine" as Will slowly dies in his arms.

Will yelled out a battle cry.
"For Olympus!"
A chorus of demigods echoed it back to him, and they charged.

The 5 empousai in front of them were no match against the 50 demigods behind Will and Nico. Will ducked as Nico slashed and Nico dodged as Will jumped. They were in perfect harmony.

Will turned to see an empousai claw at Nico.

He wasn't hurt, but he got three small welts on his cheek. Nico grumbled something and stabbed the empousai quickly in the gut. He was completely fine but Will was distracted for a split second.

He felt a cold sensation spread out from his stomach as a dull throb pounded in the background.

He looked down to see the tip of something metal stick out from the front of his stomach as the beast cackled behind him.

He would have fallen if it wasn't for Nico. He put his hand over his abs and when they came back, they were dripping red. Nico's eyes went wide.

And that's when all hell broke loose.

Nico let out a cry even louder than Will's taxicab whistle.
A sudden wall of panic and fear erupted from his armspan and the he pushed it forward, putting all his thoughts on the stupid cheerleaders in from of him.

The wall passed through the demigods but they were still dazed afterwards, running into a couple of boulders. The wall slammed into all the enemies, pushing them back until they ran away screaming. The wall dissipated into the air.

He looked down at Will.
His eyes were slipping away.
"Please someone get me some ambrosia and nectar!" He pleaded with a cracked voice.

Will moved his hand towards Nico's pale face.
"You know you won't be able to help me." Will whispered in a raspy voice. Nico stifled a sob and put a hand on top of Will's.

"Hey. it's alright. I'm happy with my life. I met you." Will spoke again.
"Will, don't talk. Save your energy." Nico told him.

"Can you sing for me?" Will looked into Nico's dark chocolate brown eyes. There were tears.

"Please?" Will added.
Nico took a deep breath and started.

"You are my sunshine
My only sunshine
You make me happy
When skies are grey"

Will closed his eyes slowly, resisting at first, but finally giving in to the sweet beckoning of death.

"You'll never know, dear
How much I love you
So don't take my sunshine away."

Nico's accent was especially thick when he sang and his voice faltered near the end. He let out a sob and clutched the lifeless body.

"Please don't take my sunshine away."
