India POV
Cameron was the person who found me, I'm not quite sure when. I wasn't conscious. He says it took him only about ten minutes to notice I was missing, which I believe. He's sweet and attentive. He called 911 naturally and an ambulance took me to the hospital where he, Blue and Ava were waiting for me when I awoke. All sprawled out in various chairs near my bedside.
Shortly after that the police arrived to question me. I lord, the maniac who attacked me is allegedly an FBI agent. I absolutely do not trust law enforcement of any kind to handle this situation properly. When I'm healed up, I'll contact a lawyer and see about filing a law suit. In the mean-time, I told the police that it was a mugging gone wrong. That I was attacked and my attacker wasn't expecting me to attempt to defend myself but I did, there was a fight and then the assailant fled empty-handed. The police believed my story, as they had no reason not to and now I have to just focus on recovering from my injuries.
I have bruises all over my face but I don't think they'll affect my modeling career. A black eye, a busted lip and a large red bruise on my right cheek. They should start fading within a few days. I also have a concussion and they'll be keeping me in the hospital for a few days to monitor me, and I broke my left arm when I fell down on the pavement. I'm the least concerned about that, everyone has broken an arm as a child. The thing that's most inconvenient about that will be trying to care for a one-year old with just one arm. That sounds impossible. That's definitively a two-hand job.
"Is there anything you need mamas?" I glanced over at Cameron, shaking my head.
Well... There is one thing. "Blue can you please take Ava back home? I don't want her to see me like this."
"No, Indi. You shouldn't be alone right now."
"I won't be alone. Cameron is going to stay with me. Now take your niece home."
It's like 2 in the morning and the ER is no place for an infant. She should be at home sleeping in her crib with her favorite stuffy just like every other night. Children need structure, it's important. Without they turn into weird adults. Her father is a weird adult, I now have to work overtime at giving her a sense of normalcy, to combat his toxic ass genes. It takes twice the effort.
After going back and forth a few more times Indigo agreed to take Avalon home. Though it's not like he really had a choice in the matter. I am her mother after all.
I motion for Cameron to join me in the bed, scooting over to make room for him. He's so far away and he almost looks scared? I can't quite read his face. "What's wrong? I won't bite, I promise."
"You..." He paused running a hand down his face, "You could've died tonight India."
"I know that—"
"You're not acting like you know. Fuck! You could've been fucking killed alone in a dingy ass alleyway and you're sitting here acting like all you did was scrape a knee."
