Left Behind (Erwin Smith X Reader)

Chapter 1:Enfer

     Another Day in this Hell. Another hour watching my comrades die and another minute having to fight off those monsters that seem to hunts us down every second. And yet my dumbass chose this life. All due to a raging curiosity that couldn't stop haunting me. A curiosity so strong it led me to join the survey corps instead of having a nice life within the walls.  Wanting to know why these creatures looked so familiar was the reason. Nothing more and nothing less. I wanted to understand why these humanoids looking demons wanted to brutally murder us. Like I said nothing more and nothing less.

    As of right now I sat in a field of grass not only covered by the blood of my enemies but also of my comrades. Only the one stained. Rubbing in the loss of those who passed. The grass was littered with green and red, with bodies scattered unevenly in certain spots. I was breathing heavily. The adrenaline from these missions always came back in front of the titans. Slightly shaken I stand back up with a huff. 

"Tch get up brat." I slowly looked up to be met with a short man on a horse come into view. Who may I add held onto my own horse. "I'm not a brat I'm older than you, Levi" He gives me another tch as I mount my horse. "Oh and thanks for my horse back." I smile as we start to regroup with other squads. "Whatever."

We had finally arrived to meet up with wide eyed, injured, and shaken soldiers. Even though I had gotten used to these faces it was still traumatizing all the same. But the images from an older mission still lingered in my mind.

We had to pick up limb after limb as we had lost so many good soldiers that day. Blood everywhere. Our commander at the time had even broken down. To add on top of that, that night Wall Maria fell. Nowadays we don't lose any many men but its still sad the we do lose some.

We continued to head for safety as more titans showed up. "OH LOOK AT ALL THOSE CUTIES!" That was other Section Commander Hanji Zoe. Right now Hanji, Levi, Erwin, Mike and I were slightly grouped together. Something that rarely happened but we were in the middle of falling back towards our squads or should I say their squads. See the problem is I had a squad. So I stayed up front with Erwin to see what his orders would be. When he was graduating the cadet corps I was entering. So somehow we would pass each other and when I finally joined the Survey corps we went from Acquaintances to friends. He knew how I operated as a soldier and I knew the same about him.

Titans started to close in around our regiment. Only about 4 though. 2 on our right and 2 on the left. The one closet being about 8 meters and the farthest being 12. We kept riding as Erwin didn't say a word to engage. The scouts faces started to grow dark while others whispered in fear of death.

"Give em hell." Said the deep voice from beside me.

I smiled finally being able to use my odm gear I hooked on the 8 meter titan's hand that was outstretched towards some scouts. Using this opportunity I  quickly gave his sausage fingers a trim as I started to work my way towards his nape, finally efficiently cutting it and heading for the other titan that was also on the left side of the scouts. This one was about 5 meters so with the height I was at I had a clean shot of his nape and cleanly sliced it.  Using some fancy odm work I had gone towards the front where Erwin was located. As for my horse I have no Idea where it went and the other titans were located a bit further up. Hooking up to a tree for some height and then to the ground right next to the Commanders horse I landed directly onto the back of said horse. I grab onto the Commander's waist to hold myself steady.

"Sorry about this sir." 

"Just be more careful next time (Y/N) we can't keep replacing your horse." I smiled at the commanders remark at I started to stand up and balance myself on the horse. The titans had grown closer and it was almost time to take them on. Still needing to wait a few seconds and being fully up I used Erwin's head as something to balance on. I was also secretly hoping to mess up his perfect hair. Finally it was time to strike. I hooked my gear onto a 3 meter titan and used some gas.

"See ya." I scream as I start towards the smaller titan. Coming straight at it and shifting to the right at the last second I go around the beast and unattach my hook. I reattach it at its scapula and use some gas to put me above the titan. Finally getting in position to kick some ass I head straight into the nape and slice it off. Using the adrenaline and momentum from the previous titan kill I head toward the twelve meter and quickly cut out its ankles causing it to fall. Using some more gas I get high enough to cut out its nape. I head straight for it but at the last second the titan turns its head causing me to change course and attack the eyes.

"Really asshole you couldn't just die?" I say to nothing in particular. I come around the back of the creature again and finally cut out its nape. I stumble to ground as the warm blood starts to steam off me. "4 more for (L/N) in less than........ 3 minutes ha." I say while looking down at a fake watch. "Oh shit." Looking up I noticed almost all the survey corps were ahead of me. I started up my feet and they hit the ground running as I was trying to somewhat catch up, I finally say fuck it and use my gear to find a supply cart and tumble into it. Only sustaining a few ouchies I sat up and watched the trees and scouts pass by the cart. Only the sounds of hooves were heard in the middle of this day. Even though it had felt like eternity we were finally heading to safety. Letting my smile drop as well as my body I laid back in the cart and looked at the blue sky. It was clear and peaceful ,completely opposite to the land and to the hundreds of soldiers minds that ran through what they had just witnessed, including myself.
