It was the last week of the fair and the activities have been rounded up. The remaining days was for students to socialize and get to know each other more.
A sales was going on in the garden where different souvenirs are for sale. Stephanie picked her ATM card and she forced Femi and Hera to escort her, she wanted to get some things for Kimee.
They got to the bead stand and Femi picked up a set of waist beads made from colorful sand beads and he picked another necklace and a pair of earrings. He asked the seller to package inside a small box and he paid for it.
Stephanie turned to him in surprise "who are you buying all this things for FM?"
"Wuraola Isiaka. You will tell how it's affecting you" He fired back immediately and Stephanie hissed loudly before turning around to pick up things for her best friend.
Hera bought a wristband with stars and she also got a weird necklace with moon pendant. Hera didn't even haggle the price before she paid and they headed back to the hostel.
They entered Femi's room first and they collapsed on the bed. Stephanie's phone was ringing and she picked it up before checking the caller ID. It was Demi and she wondered what must have gone wrong for him to call.
"Hello Demilade, what happened?" She asked as soon as she picked it up.
"What's the name of the therapist mum got for you when you just came back from Korea?" He asked with concern laced in his voice and Stephanie wondered who might need the helpline.
"Sirens Co. That's the name of the NGO. it's aimed at providing a safe haven for women and all. But wait why do you need it, is Kimee in trouble?" She asked with concern lacing her voice and he sighed.
"Its not Kimee, it's Fadekemi. She just lost her sister and her mom and she's been going hysterical. They've been sedating her since last week but now they've stopped. She's not even saying a word" He replied lowly and Stephanie gasped in shock.
"What the hell happened? Oh my God, she's going through a lot right now. Where's she now?" Stephanie asked again.
"She's currently staying with Katerina and I told her dad about your therapist and how he helped you too. I didn't tell him what happened to you though. Can you send me their helpline on whatsapp?" He replied and she said okay before hanging up to send him the number on WhatsApp.
"Who's going through a lot and who needs therapy?" Femi asked and Stephanie wanted to ignore him at first but she decided to forgive him for snapping at her earlier today.
"Fade, Demi's school daughter just lost her mum and her sister. She's not saying anything" She replied and Femi shook his head.
"No wonder she's not picking my calls or returning my texts" He sighed and Stephanie stared at him in confusion.
"Who's not picking your calls?" She found herself asking and he groaned.
"Katerina now. We agreed to take things slowly for now and be close friends but this last days she hasn't even picked my calls or return my calls. Her last seen was three days ago. I was even thinking she changed her mind and she thinks she deserve someone more supportive. Ah omooo love na war oh" He groaned and Stephanie rubbed his head.
"Babafemi Martins, breathe and relax for a while. I know you love her and you probably want to tell her how much you love her daily but her friend is in a critical condition right now and she needs to be there for her. She can't do that successfully without you infiltrating her head and thoughts. She's surely going to come around. Don't beat yourself up.
You're the most supportive person I know and you know it too. Don't let your insecurities get the best of you" Stephanie advised and he sighed. There was nothing he could do for now rather than just wait, he can't wait for this damn fair to be over so he can go and visit her to see what's up. He hated long distance ships because of issues like this.
