We are having a family dinner? Why wasn't I told?

I woke up with the song sunflower stuck in my head so I put it on. I'm so glad its Saturday today I got tons to do before we go over for dinner tonight. Looking at the time I see it's already ten thirty. Holy crap I never sleep that late, getting up I go to take a shower.
Now that I'm dressed and ready I go get something to eat, I see a note on the fridge from my Tia it says: had to pop over to work will be back in two hours
Ok, I wonder if we will be able to work on any spells today. We were supposed to start that part of my training, I guess I'll go out back and meditate to center myself after I eat something. I haven't had the chance to really ground myself in about a week or so, this should be good chance to do so.
I just finished my cereal and coffee and was heading to the backyard when a knock sounded at the door.
"I wonder who that is?" I whisper, rolling my eyes I head for the door. "You couldn't have waited till tonight?" I say as I open the door, to not find my mate.
Lici and Mira both look at me with smirks. Then Mira's disappears, "EWW PLEASE TELL ME YOU WEREN'T THINKING ABOUT THAT RIGHT NOW!!!!!" She groans super loud. Lici is just laughing at our faces Mira's one of disgust and mine of shock and embarrassment.
"What? no, not that I just thought he wanted to hangout and your clearly not him anyway, so let's just drop it ok thanx," I say stepping back to let them in.
"Then what's happening tonight then?" Lici asks with a gleam in her eyes and a wiggle in her eyebrows.
Laughing I closed the door and head to the backyard, "still not that, we are having a family dinner at his house."
"Wait what? I didn't hear 'bout this, when did this get decided and why wasn't I told?" Mira asks looking annoyed.
"I'm sorry do you not want us to come?" I ask quietly, I never considered that they wouldn't want us to come.
"Its not that, is just I dont have anything to wear and he's my twin brother, he's supposed to tell me first because I'm his twin, lately it's like I'm last to know anything," she sounds so sad.
Giving her a hug I tell her, "we only just decided last night so I could meet all your siblings. I'll have a talk with him if you want about treating you better," I say.
"No, he has to figure it out, but thankyou for caring about me." She smiles.
"Ofcourse I care you're my friend and one day you'll be my sister," I smile.
"Ok why are we in the backyard for?" Lici asks.
Smiling I tell them, "I was coming out to center myself and connect with the nature around me when you got here, you can join me if you want."
"How do you do that?" They ask in unison.
"For me I sit on the ground, I place my hands palms down to the ground next to me. I close my eyes and clear my mind. I listen to the sounds around me, I feel the earth's energy underneath my skin. I breathe in the air around me tasting the scents it holds. The warmth of the sun, the feel of the wind on my skin, the press of the grass under me. I feel it all and I take it in," I tell them in a calm steady voice as I do what I'm saying.
I peek at them to see they have also started to try this as well.
"Does this help you with your magic," Lici whispers.
"I haven't started spell casting just yet but yes being centered and connected to nature helps. I'm going to be studying healing spells and potions I want to be able to help others and I may try my hand at studying hex removal but I hear it's very difficult. I just want to be able to make a difference you know?" I ask.
"Wow that's amazing! I wish I had an idea what I want to do I'm still undecided," Mira says with a wistful look.
"Don't sweat it you still have a whole other year of high school left, me on the other hand I graduate this year, then I should do med school they told me," Lici tells us.
Closing our eyes we meditate for a while longer,till we hear footsteps coming up behind us from the forest. "What are you girls up to?" Ruben asks as he sits behind Lici pulling her to lean against him, which she does without complaint.
"We were centering ourselves and connecting to nature," I tell him as Roman sits behind me, pulling me to his chest.
"What are you guys doing here?" Mira asks crossing her arms. "Why didn't you tell me Ivy and Tia Willow were coming tonight, when I saw you this morning Roman?"
He jolted a little and I peeked at him, he was a little shocked, "did I not say anything?" he asked trying to look innocent. I elbowed him in the stomach for good measure. He let out an "Oof."
"What was that for?" He whined.
Peeking at him I just gave him a look, rolling his eyes, he looks at his twin, "I'm sorry, I just wanted it to be a surprise, why didn't you tell me you were coming over?" He continues.
"Do I have to tell you whenever I go to see my friends?" She counters.
"Ok guys if you don't stop I'll have to center myself all over again," I sigh.
"IVY, WHERE ARE YOU?" my Tia calls out.
"Out back Tia!" I call back.
"Will she be mad we're here?" They all whisper at the same time.
"no it's fine," I say with certainty.
Coming out back she smiles, "hi everyone can I get y'all anything?"
A Chorus of various types of "no thanx" are heard she keeps her smile. Then her eyes land on me, "I was going to see if you wanted to do a blessing spell with me since we haven't yet and it's a good starter spell, but we can do it later if you like," she tells me.
"OH CAN WE SEE?!!!" the girls squeal.
"That sounds cool do you mind if we watch?" The guys ask.
I turn to her, "ok we can do it now if you want," I smile.
Smiling she holds out her hand "ok let's start."
