That was scary

They weren't kidding, when Rome the babies and me finally got home our sitting room was filled with gifts there was so many I didn't know where to start.
Mira and the girls gave Rome and me a hand, while our parents watched the babies for us. It took hours, we should have enough diapers to last us a couple of months they even gave us some that were for when the kids are bigger. They have more clothes now than Roman and I combined, and shoes but, OMG SO CUTE!!! Some of the stand out gifts to me are: Nana Rita croquet each of the babies a teddy bear with their first initial on the belly. A pack member in Oregon made them little blankets with wolves howling at the moon. Kai's mate Allyson made them special mobiles with pictures of us on them. That's only to name a few, we are so blessed to have such wonderful people in our pack.
After settling into a routine with the babies, Roman started to get even more work as Alpha. His dad said he would still be Alpha for two more years till hes absolutely sure Roman is ready to "fly solo", not that Roman has ever shown that he isn't up to the task, it's just his dad way of trying to let him still be around us more for the important firsts and still get more experience with him.
It's been almost tree weeks since we brought the kiddos home when Mama Nickie went into labor, for some reason Alpha Ez was extremely nervous, at one point Roman and the Beta had to sit on him because he said something was wrong and had to get to her, but then Mira had to remind him that if something was wrong his wolf would keep them helping her.
Three hours later a nurse came out, it was Lici, she had been helping at the hospital for months now, she walked up to the Alpha holding a small blue blanketed bundle. Alpha Ez took hold of his son they decided to name Zeno Lunas. He is so cute!! Looking up he asked why Mama Nickie wasn't holding their son? Squaring her shoulders she said,"there was some complications, the Luns was Still bleeding and we couldn't get it stopped, Doc B had to perform a partial hysterectomy."
"What does the mean?" he asked in a cautious tone.
"It means the doctor had to remove her uterus in order to save her life, she still has her ovaries but she will no longer be able to have anymore children. The Doc is doing her last run through then she will have the Luna moved to a recovery room then you will be able to see her, the doc says only two visitors at a time for now, since we know you will be staying at her side your not included in that Alpha."
"Why isnt the doc tell us?" Constantine asks.
"She's telling this to your mom, she woke up and after spending a little bit of time with Zeno she asked me to bring him to the Alpha while I explained it to him so they can just rest later," Lici says. "The important thing is that they are both doing good and will be fine."
Later when it's our turn to see her, she's resting, she must be exhausted, we dont stay long and decide to come back tomarrow.
That night, Rome tells me how scared he was when Lici brought out his baby brother instead of leading his dad back to see his mom.
"It felt like my heart just stopped for a minute, I dont think I even breathed. It was like I was cold too like all my warmth just leaked out of me, Goddess thankyou for letting Mom be ok! Thankyou for keeping my mate from that as well," he says fervently.
After checking our pups one last time, we get ready for bed. Curling up next to my mate I send out a quiet thankyou as well.

The next day we head over to the pack hospital to see Mama Nickie and Zeno. Shes feeding him when we come in.
"Whoa! holy mom boob!" Roman backpedals almost running me over.
"Really Rome?" I roll my eyes.
"Yeah, why are you freaking out? You fed from these same boobs," Mama Nickie says.
"MOM!" Rome blushes and covers his face.
His dad just laughs, "Why are you so flustered? You have your own pups now, why is this such a big deal?"
Roman just shakes his head, "sorry, just wasn't expecting mom to be feeding with no top on."
Rolling her eye she covers the boob not currently in use, "is that better son?"
"Yes, the only boobs I want burned into my retinas are Ivy's," he says.
"Roman!" I blush as red as a tomato.
Laughing Alpha Ez pats Roman on his back, "what male doesn't want their mate's body burned in their mind?"
"True true," Rome nods.
Rolling my eyes I sit next to Mama Nickie's bed.
We visit for an hour till, Constantine and Dennis come to take their turn to visit.
We exchanged hugs then took our leave, my mom and Grey are watching the babies, I know they love it but I miss my little ones.
When we get home and up to our rooms my mom is rocking Faith, and Grey is bouncing Valorian. Esperanza and Arturios are sleeping in the moses baskets at moms feet. Walking up to them I smile at them, "hi how have they been?" I whisper.
"Angels, we played they ate we burped them, they went potty twice, and now its nap time," Grey says.
"That's good," I smile.
Behind me Roman yawns as he stretches, "ok babe, I got to get to the office, I have work."
Turning I give him a kiss on his soft lips, he kisses me back, deepening our kiss. Grey chuckles, Rome leaves me dazed, chuckling with Grey. "Love you beautiful!" Roman says turning to head out, "love you too!" I call out to him.
Turning I must have a goofy look on my face, the looks they give me makes my cheeks pinken.
"It's good to see you happy," my mom says making me smile more.
"I'm blessed to have you all in my life, that makes me happy," I say smiling feeling warmth spread throughout my body.
