with the avengers

"Impressive cage. Not built, I think, for me," Loki's voice comes over the speakers as they looked over the live footage with Loki and Fury. He stood in the center of a steel trap, made for the Hulk. People were dispersed throughout the room at random- Bruce at his own spot, as well as Natasha. Steve was looking at the footage from his spot at the table.

"Built for something a lot stronger than you," Fury responded, standing beside the button that could very well bring Loki to his death if the man wished.

"Oh, I've heard," He grinned, glancing towards the camera that watched him. An uneasy feeling lifted through the room that the others were in, resulting in Natasha gazing up at Bruce from where he stood. He gazed at her as well, "A mindless beast. Makes play he's still a man. How desperate are you, that you call on such lost creatures to defend you?"

"How desperate am I? You threaten my world with war. You steal a force you can't hope to control. You talk about peace, and you kill because it's fun. You have made me very desperate. Might not be glad that you did."

"It burns you to have come so close. To have the Tesseract, to have power- unlimited power, might I add. And for what? A warm light for all mankind to share?" Loki questioned, his gaze shifting from Fury back towards the camera, just for it to land back on the man outside of the cage, "And then to be reminded what real power is."

A smile tugged at the corner of Fury's lips as he turned away from the Asgardian, trecking out of the room, "Let me know if 'real power' wants a magazine or something."

The video footage closed out, and the Avengers immediately started conversing with each other, Bruce starting the conversation, "Really grows on you, doesn't he?"

"Loki's gonna drag this out. So, Thor, what's his play here?" Steve asked, his right hand still laying on the table as he looked towards the other Asgardian.

"He has an Army called the Chitauri. They're not of Asgard, nor any world known," Thor spoke, turning himself to face the others in the room, "He means to lead them against your people- against your planet. They will win him the Earth, in return, I suspect, for the Tesseract."

"An army... from outer space."

"He's building another portal," Bruce spoke up, taking off his glasses, fumbling with them in his hands. He looked a little more uneasy, given all the conditions he is being put through at the moment, "That's what he needs Erik Selvig for."

"Selvig?" Thor inquired.

"He's an astrophysicist."

"He's a friend," Thor replied swiftly, gazing from person to person as his mind seemed to think about Erik Selvig.

"Loki has him under some kind of spell," Natasha butted in, her voice breaking slightly from the lack of talking, "Along with one of ours."

"I want to know why Loki let us take him. He's not leading an army from here."

Bruce continued to fiddle with his glasses, "I don't think we should be focusing on Loki. That guy's brain is a bag full of cats. You could smell crazy on him."

"Have care how you speak. Loki is beyond reason, but he is of Asgard," Thor replied, staring intently at the purple-shirted man who stopped moving his glasses around, "And he is my brother."

"He killed 80 people in two days."

"He's adopted."

"I think it's about the mechanics. Iridium... What do the need the iridium for?"
