10. Indigo Oceans

No one noticed when my lighthouse was struck down
Thunder roared, yet everyone remained silent
No one noticed when my cliff crumbled
Lightning set the sky ablaze, but no one saw
No one noticed when I was flung from safety by icy storm winds
No, no one noticed when I was ruined by the riptide
Lost in the indigo ocean of my tears.

I crashed through the air, propelled from the peninsula
Burst through the frozen atmosphere before the storm could steal my screams
Just as my heart collided with the waves
The headland burnt down causing navy peaks to ricochet
All that was left in its place was a solitary stack
The only evidence that any of this is true
The only evidence that this is reality and not some secluded sanctuary.

Sustained only by driftwood, I was whipped further from the shore
Barely visible, I was a mere dot on an empty canvas
A single being lost in a void, vacant, unending sea
Slipping beneath icy amethyst curves
My torturous lamentations echoed through the hollow caves
Where glassy icicles had formed, nestled between eroded sheets of limestone
I reached out in agony as static stormed the ashen sky
Seconds before my worst fear came true.

The flailing ellipsoids covered me, as I sank further into the azure abyss
Was plunged deeper within the indigo ocean
Above me, drones circled the sky, capturing me drown and die
Yet there were no helicopters on their way to save me
As the rubble gave way, it was a bloody battle between me and gravity
Moments before I sank into my tears, submerged to the pain
The winds eased and the sky lightened again...
Just like I should've had faith they would.

Fighting my way through the currents, I somehow brought my bruised body back to shore
An ice had formed over me, my clothes were soaked through
From beside the weathered caves, my mournful elegies carried
Notes of grief praising the safe haven lost and destroyed
Scattered across the seabed
Covered by a vast expansion of indigo tears
Photographed only by me.
