Chapter 19
Theo's P.O.V
It was Tuesday. I automatically love Tuesday's, because that was the day I got to see Addie. She had saved a seat for me when I came in, and when I come over, she looked up from the conversation she was having with her friend and beamed at me. I could feel my face lighten in response, and we grinned at each other like idiots for a second. Then her friend tried to claim her attention by saying "Addie? So do you like the Rocking Birds?"
"I love them." Addie didn't look at him. "What do you think about them, Theo?"
"Love them." I said, and we carried out an enthusiastic conversation. Her friend, who I remembered was called Alan or something, looked at us sullenly.
I didn't know why it made me so happy that Addie was talking to me instead of him. Or why that amazing smile of her's lifted me like I was riding a cloud. Or why she looked just so beautiful all the time.
Maybe because I was in love with her.
I shook the stupid, random thought out my head. Of course I didn't love her. We were just... really good friends. Werewolves couldn't fall in love like that, like humans, they only had mates-
MATES???
No. No way. Addie couldn't be my mate. That was... well it wasn't impossible. I admired her beautiful features, and felt that tiny spark of happiness deep inside me, the way I always felt whenever I looked at her. I remembered the way her hand had felt in mine...
Holy sh*t. Addie was my mate. But I had to check.
At the end of the day, I leapt into the car and set the engine roaring to life. The others scrambled in after me.
"What's the rush?" Alex puffed, shuffling onto the seat before I could drive away without them.
"I just want to check something." I mumbled, and sped don the road.
"Really? What do you want to check? Is it that Vampyre thing?"
"Don't mention that." Linda shuddered. "It gives me the shivers."
"They haven't actualy done anything yet." Ruby-May rolled her eyes.
"Did any of you guys see them?" Jared asked. Everyone shook their heads. "I did. That one with no smell. Miedo."
"Did you say anything to him?"
"He was just sort of glaring at me. I just nodded at him. I hope he gets the message; we know what they are,but we're not here to fight."
