"Fall on me" A Matteo Bocelli story.

Finding Kat part 2

Matteo spotted me and ran to me. I ran into his arms and he held me tightly. I missed him so much,even though I just saw him. 

    "Matteo what are you doing here?" I asked.

"I came to be with you.I left as soon as you got off the phone. I told my family and they told me to go,hey its going to be okay" He said wiping my tears away.I smiled and he looked into my eyes and then my lips. I looked away and we sat down in the field. He pulled me closer to him and he started singing. It sounded so beautiful and it felt much calmer. After he finished singing he grabbed my hand and said, " Rosalyn, I haven't stopped thinking about you since I left. You are the best person and just hearing the hurt in your voice makes my stomach turns. Just know I will not leave until Kat is in your arms,you can always fall on me my Rose." I leaned on his chest and tears came flowing out again.

   "Thank you Matteo." I said.

" You're welcome Rosalyn."

"Look,can you do something with me tonight?"

"Anything."

" Well my neighbors they said something weird-" My dad was pulling up, "one sec" I said getting up and running after my dad's truck. When he pulled in our driveway I caught my breath. He got out and laughed, " dad did they say anything new?" 

  "No, they didn't sweetheart,but we are all going searching tonight,where you found her bear." 

  "Cubbie,dad." 

"yeah cubbie." Dad said.

"I'm coming." I said.

"No you stay here." He said.Matteo came over and he smiled, "Hey Matteo."

"Hello sir." Matteo said.

"Look,you stay here incase she comes back." Dad told me.

"But-"

"No buts,stay here." Dad said pointing his finger at me.

" Fine." I said crossing my arms. 

"Can you make sure she doesn't leave." Dad said to Matteo.

"Now you're giving me a babysitter." I rolled my eyes and walked away. 

" Yes sir." I heard Matteo said.

  "Rosalyn Nicole get back here." Dad said. 

I stopped and walked back to dad and looked him in the eyes, "sir?"

  "Look,I know you want to look for Kat,and don't get mad that you can't. Like I said she may come back and you'll be the first person she wants to see." dad said hugging  me.

   "Fine." I said.

I went back to the field and sat back down. Matteo came over and sat beside me, "he's right you know,stay here."

  "Look you are not my babysitter,you're only 3 years older than me" I said rolling my eyes. 

"You were telling me something earlier about your neighbor." He said .

"Oh yeah,well Mrs. Hughes the neighbor came out and mentioned Cubbie,she said she heard Kat mentioned it,but she never mentioned it with me outside,I mean I know they are our neighbor,but there is some space between our houses"

 "Maybe she heard it when she was with your parents." 

" Maybe,but she only mentions Cubbie in the house because she says she doesn't want anyone to know about him"

"What are you implying Rosalyn?"

"The woods where Alicia came out,lets go check that out." I said getting up.

" Rosalyn,are you sure?" 

"Yes,we can walk here,it'll take a few minutes." I said.Matteo got up and grabbed my hand. We walked to the spot and saw Alicia on the road walking as well. "Hey Alicia." I said.

    "Hey Rosalyn." Alicia said.

"How are you,oh this is Matteo." 

" Hi Matteo,I'm Alicia. I'm good,how about you?" Alicia said. Matteo smiled and said hi.

   " We're good,taking your daily walk?" I asked.

"Yeah,gotta build those lungs up for playing the flute." Alicia laughed.

" Yeah you do. You're already awesome at it." 

"Thank you and you're great at dancing." Alicia said smiling. She kept cutting her eyes to the woods and then back at us, " well I'll see you tonight."

   "Oh,I'm staying home,my dad said to incase she comes home." I said.

" Well I'll be out looking for her." Alexis said.

"Thank you." I smiled.

"You're welcome." she said hugging me, "Nice to meet you Matteo." 

"Nice to meet you to." Matteo said.

She walked the way to her house and we couldn't see her anymore. We walked to where Cubby was and went into the woods. This is where Alicia came out last time. We followed kind of a trail and it led behind the Hughes house,there were alcohol bottles and cigarette packets everywhere scattered out every time we hit a pile of leaves with out feet. It took a good 10 minutes to get there,but it was there. I looked at Matteo and he looked at me, "do you think?" 

  "How,Kat is way stronger than her." Matteo said.

" What if it wasn't her,it could have been her dad."

"I don't know Rosalyn." 

" Ugh,Matteo something is going on with them. Kat scolded them a lot and then as soon as I go away she's missing."

"Your mom said she ran away."

"She would never leave cubbie behind,look they are searching for Kat tonight,I'm going over there,are you with me?" 

"Of course I am Rosalyn." We headed back to my house and saw Mrs. Hughes outside. She was staring at us and I waved. She didn't wave back and went inside. Matteo and I looked at each other and went inside my house.

 Nighttime came and everyone begin their search. Mr.Hughes came over and waited for my parents.

   "Hey John(Mr.Hughes) where's Viola (Mrs. Hughes)?" Mom asked.

" She had to take care of some business,but she'll be back later,but Alicia and I are here. What about Rosalyn,where's she?" Mr. Hughes asked.

" I told her to stay in case Kat comes back." Dad said.

" Hey Alicia,why don't you stay with them."Mr. Hughes said.

" Dad,the more people out searching the better." Alicia said.

"Okay,well are you ready?" Dad said.

"Be safe." I said.

" We will." Dad kissed my forehead and we hugged. Mom hugged me as well. 

I watched them go down the road and I told Matteo to come on. It was time!
