"Fall on me" A Matteo Bocelli story.

Hearing the truth part 2

It was my turn to be alone and tell my part of the story. 

  I sat down and Officer Jackie sat across from me.

" So Rosalyn have you and Kat been close since she was born?" Officer Jackie asked.

" Yes,ever since she was born,I loved her and I was in Ballet then and then when Kat was five,my parents use to argue all the time and they hit us,so I was all that Kat had,so I took her to ballet with me and she always stood on the sidelines,but never really danced. Maybe a few times,but not truly dance."
"How long did the hitting last?" 

"About 2 years and then Mom and dad went to a different church and gave their live to Jesus and they apologized for everything. I kept Kat close to me for the last few years,but my parents they really did change. My dad stopped drinking,my mom went to counseling and then my dad went to counseling as well."
"Did you and Kat go to counseling?"
"Yes we did, being 14 at the time I wanted to run away with Kat and leave my parents,but I didn't and I'm glad I didn't because Kat needed them,I needed them. My parents has changed and our bond has gotten tighter. 

  "I'm sorry you went through that,you turned out to be a awesome person,and  especially an amazing sister to Kat." Officer Jackie said.

"Thank you." I said.

"Mhmm, so where were you when Kat disappeared?" 

"I was in LA."

"Really? For?"

"I was with a friend at an awards show."

"What friend?"

"His privacy is important to me." I said

"Is it the gentleman that came with you?" I nodded, "well we got his information already,we know who he is,but his identity is safe." 

"Ok,good." 

"Were you guys together the whole time?"

"Almost,he did come back with me,but left a few hours later because my dad wanted him to get back to his family."

"Okay,well what happened?"I told her the whole story from going into the Hughes house,to finding the trails,and from being chased on the highway. "Oh man, you guys are brave. I'm sorry you had to experience it. You got your sister back though,you should be proud. Also the trail,that's where Alicia came out right?"
  

"Thank you,I am and yes,but why does that have anything to do with it?" I smiled, "I'm happy she's back,look I'm sorry I broke into their house,but the police didn't do anything,they didn't search properly I guess." 

"I know you are and it was your gut telling you to do it. I would have done the same thing and well ou also mentioned you took her home,did you smell alcohol or anything on her?

   "Umm," now that she mentioned it,I did. I smelled Alcohol and cigarette smoke on her,should I mention it to her? "I can't remember." I lied.

    "that's okay,well I think I have the information we need,lets go back to the hallway." Officer Jones said getting up. I got up as well and we went into the hallway. Officer Jackie went to the office and I saw Matteo out there and hugged him. He hugged me back and squeezed me tightly.

  "You okay?" He asked.

"Yeah,you?" I asked,even though I was thinking about Alicia drinking and smoking in the woods at 4am. Those bottles were hers that we found and those cigarette packets. He nodded his head and smiled. I smiled back and another officer came walking with officer Jackie."

  " Rosalyn this is officer Smith,he went with Matteo and both of your stories checked out. They were perfectly together. We also put the names of the house that you went to and we're going to go pick them up right now." Officer Jackie said.

"Thank you." I said.

"And we are bringing Mr. Hughes and Mrs. Hughes in for questioning as well. Also their daughter Alicia." Officer Jackie said.

" She came to my house this morning and said she had nothing to do with it,she didn't know." I said.

"We still have to bring her here." Officer Jackie said. 

"We would like you all  to stay in this lounging room until we get everyone here." Officer Smith said.

  Just then the door opened and Kat ran out and hugged me. They just finished and she was crying. She ran to mom and dad and dad picked her up and hugged her. "Can we go home now?" Kat asked.

" Not yet sweetheart,maybe another hour." Dad said,

"Ugh why,I'm done answering questions?" Kat moaned

"Its other things." Dad said.

We all walked to the lounging area and Matteo grabbed my hand and I whispered, "I'm sorry again I got you into this." 

"Its okay Rosalyn,l've gotten closer to you." He smiled.

We sat on the couch in the lounging room and I laid my head on Matteo's shoulder. We were in there for about 10 minutes and I had to use the rest room. I went out and came face to face with Mr. Hughes. He stared at me and the way he smiled was so creepy, "Rosalyn." I didn't say anything,I froze. Then I saw Mrs. Hughes and she smiled at me and then looked at Mr. Hughes.

     "Rosalyn, how's cubbie?" She asked.

I clenched my fist, and then the door behind me opened, "Rosalyn can I come with you, I have to use the restroom to." It was Kat,oh no. She came from behind me and saw them. Her eyes widened and went back inside the room. 

  "We were so close to getting get rid of her." Mr. Hughes said.

"What did you say?" I said getting closer to him. 

  "You heard me." Mr. Hughes smiled.

"alright that's it," I said slapping Mr Hughes in the face,I was the smaller person I must admit,but he literally just said they were close of getting rid of her.  The police officer took them away and I went back inside the room.  Kat was sitting in dad's lap with her face in his chest,"Kat,their gone."

" Are you sure?" Kat said.

"Yes,come on lets go to the restroom." I smiled. I wanted to kick and punch Mr Hughes,but I did maintain that part.

Kat got up and grabbed my hand. We went to the restroom and Kat said something, "Mr. and  Mrs. Hughes are so creepy ugh. I hate them what they did to me,what they did to my family,I hate them." Kat said coming out the stall.

"Kat its okay."
"No its not,I hope they get locked up." Kat said.

We washed our hands and left the restroom. We went back in the room and mom and dad had to take Kat to get a check up, Matteo and I went as well just for safety measures since we got hit in the head. It was an hour and a half until we left and when we did I was so happy. We met Alicia on the way out and she didn't say anything. She walked right past us and into the police station. We went home and Kat,Matteo,and I got ice cream. To take our mind off of things. One of the best days ever. I was so happy Matteo was here.
