☣️ GORE WARNING ☣️

Time.... It seemed to just fly by, so fast that Tom couldn't believe that today was his 34th birthday.

It's not like anyone was going to celebrate it with him since Edd was on a mission with Tam and Matt was in the medical ward for surgery on his recently injured knee.

Tom walked around his dark oak desk, something was missing.
It wasn't the fact that nobody ever talked to him and he spent all his time alone figuring out how to end this war so he can finally settle down like he always wanted.

He looked at the tan walls and 2 diplomas hung on the wall.

The one on the left was for masters psychology and the one on the right was a masters  medical practice.

He no longer felt pride when he looked at them just...nothing, that was the best way to sum it up.

Tom pulled out a drawer from the filing cabinet and a small paper fell to the floor

He stared at it for a second knowing it was a photo, and who it was of.

He bent down and picked up the photo
It was him and Tord.

They were holding each other watching fireworks. Tom couldn't help but think of how happy he felt at that moment.

Truthfully he didn't know why he held onto it, but he couldn't help but hold onto it in wishing for a future like his past.

He sighed all he wanted was someone to love him the way he loved them and the one time in his life was with Tord, even if it made him feel silly.

Silly as In guilty

I wouldn't be able to be with him again even if the war ended

He tucked the photo in his breast pocket over his heart and approached the door with a heavy heart.

He walked out of the small office and headed to the medical ward to give his best wishes to Matt before the operation.

Once that was done and Matt was carted off to the OR he headed to his office

Tom stared out his barred up bedroom window at the stars in the sky.
He wished to be out living among people instead of being confined to his quarters.

Wishing he had Tord again, what was wrong with him?
Usually when he felt like shit he would just read his old psychology notes but nothing else made him feel that type of happiness.

Just a few years ago he could walk out like a normal person but now people knew who he was, and after one too many assassination attempts none of the leaders are allowed outside of the building alone.

That never stopped him from walking around on the roof every now and again just to get some fresh air.

Tom was startled by a sudden knock on the door
"come on in"

His door opened revealing on of his soldiers panting heavily
"What's wrong?"

"Intruders.... disabled the PA and alarm systems.
Southern wing"
Tom was a little shocked, nobody has led a direct or decent attack like this in over 3 years.

"Wake the residents, put the base on lockdown, do not let them anywhere near the critical areas of the base. keep them in the southern wing, we can trap them there''

The soldier nodded
"yes sir!"
He ran away and within seconds the base was active.

Tom closed his door and went to his desk pulling out a damaged flask, and took a sip from it.
