*TW: Blood and mentions of torture*
3rd person pov
A female with her hair put up nicely walked patiently through the halls carrying some books. She sighed feeling semi annoyed about the new 'partner' that she got paired with as she now was forced to help this town's berau leader."He's so annoying Malik!" She snapped walking besides Malik Al-Sayf, because her partner said he would help the black-haired male, but never did so now she was helping him, Malik nods to show that he was listening to her rant.
"Yeah, I know but hey just know no other assassin will mess with you since you have that novice as a partner" Malik says trying to comfort the female assassin and Y/n nods as they walked into Malik's office.
"And that's the only pro I can think off at the moment" she sighs, and he nods in understanding, since he's worked with her new partner before, while putting some of the books he had onto the shelf.
"I know Altair is difficult to work with, but I think it's trust issues. I think once you finally get him to trust you it'll become easier...though I understand that won't be as easy as it sounds" Malik says which Y/n responds with a nod.
"Alright I'll give it a chance Malik just don't know how long I can handle said chance" Y/n sighs then the two of them hear a thud out in the hall. Y/n walked out and saw Altair, her new partner, standing up dusting himself off.
"And just where in the name of Allah were you?" Y/n asked harshly making Altair look up at her. His golden yellow eyes glaring at her from under his hood, but her e/c eyes glared right back at her.
"Out" he says causing Y/n to cross her arms and roll her eyes at his holier than thou attitude. He huffed and crossed his own arms.
"Ok then out where? Cause we only got here the other day" Y/n asked making him looked her up and down before sighing.
"I was trying to track down our target, but it seems either no one knows anything, or no one wants to talk" Altair says making Y/n chuckle.
"Because you look like someone affiliated with the guards that are harassing the citizens. No one around here is going to trust someone so intimidating. I'll handle it you stay here and finish helping Malik like you said you would" Y/n says smiling Altair watches her as she left heading towards the town square. Once she was outside, she looked around for anyone that seemed to know anything useful when she spotted someone who looks like a merchant of sorts. Y/n walks over to his stall and waits for him to finish with the other customers then she walked up to him.
"Hello sir! I hope your day has been successful and if not then I wish you a better day" she says he nods and faces her with a small smile.
"And what can I help you with today ma'am?" He asked politely Y/n looked around some before she held out a pouch of coins.
"I need information on someone..." She says dropping the pouch on the table making him gain a nervous look on his face.
"You're with that scary guy with the weapons...look I don't want any trouble" he says, and Y/n shakes her head.
"I told him if he wants the citizens to trust to look less like a guard. Yes, I am with him, but we aren't with the guards we are trying to free this city from them but unlike me. My partner uses his sword more than his words" Y/n apologizes the merchant looks at her seemingly seeing if she was lying before he nods.
"Well then if you promise to keep my name out of it..." he began Y/n nodded before listening to everything he said.
*After asking around town, eavesdropping, stealing, and buying information then heading back to the Berau*
