A collection of my haiku that pulls from both my cultures, that of the Arabian beduins and that of the American West. All of the haiku are my original work. I fell in love with the art form after researching about it for a competition I was planning to host. Endless meaning in so few words is one of the reasons I love poetry, and haiku felt like coming home. It's a story of presence. One pane at a time. It also reflects life with disability - quietly seen, often misunderstood, but deeply felt.

On a quiet trail above a sleeping city, Matthew Blacke expects solitude-nothing more than another evening spent outrunning his thoughts. Instead, he finds two figures waiting for him. Lately, I've been pushed through a bunch of heartaches and pains. I'm lonely, but.. I'm starting to see that I dont think I matter really anymore. Is my existence really worth keeping in peoples lives?
