When Shepard decided to stop being part of the world and to undergo cryosleep, she knew that she never wanted to be awakened again. She had lost everyone that ever mattered to her in an expedition gone wrong. But the unthinkable happened, the human race had encountered another intelligent race and things hadn't gone the way anyone expected. Now Naval Command is in need of Shepard's help whether she wants to give it or not.

I hate dying. I know that I hate it because I've already died once. The pain doesn't bother me, that's not what hurts the most about dying. By destroying the Reapers, Shepard made a choice in sacrifice and had no intention of making it out alive. However, fate seemed not to agree with her as she survives the blast. Separated from her ship, crew and Anderson, Shepard must face the truth behind everything she fought for on her own. Facing the open darkness and fighting once more on a battle that may shake everything Shepard has known to it's core.

The Reapers. What if we just said "fuck that" and cut them from the script? Well, that's my intention here. I'm mixing up Shepard's backstory to the max to try and add on to the gritty side of what falling through the cracks really feels like. Akuze, the Skillian Blitz and the Ruthless origins are all cannon in this personal AU, as well as the Mindoir and Orphan, except instead of being an Orphan on Earth, its Omega. I feel like the space kid is a little too idyllic for what I'm going for. Not to mention I plan on Shepard being a bit on the older side. How long would it take for a disillusioned Commander Shepard to finally cut the red tape and leave the Alliance? Who all will Shepard meet now that the Reapers are out of the picture, not forcing the script in to a funnel? Will she still make friends with our beloved Mass Effect cast? Or will they go completely different routes? Let's find out.

Waking up in an entirely different universe, Aura has to adapt to her new life, which is not always easy. As she joins Shepard's team on Normandy SR1 and then later on the SR2, her future suddenly seems... frightening and not at all what she imagined it to be. Thank the Spirits for the Turian who was at her side from the beginning.

This story will dive deep into the love between Garrus Vakarian and Layla Shepard. Their relationship was strong and because of that Garrus never got over Layla's death. But one dream lit the spark of hope inside him again. This story will follow Garrus in his quest to find what really happened to his loved one.

Takes place immediately after the events of Mass Effect 3. Synthesis ending. Femshep. Shakarian. I am not a pro. I have never written anything for the public before. I finished the series for the 800th time, and, as usual, was disappointed with the ending, and the only way to get the possibilities to stop bouncing around my head was to give them life. I am only posting them here in hopes it can quelm the disappointment in like-minded fans. I have no rights to bioware's characters or the universe they live in.
