140 years after the war against Hybern, and Katie, Tamlin's daughter, has lived protected in the Spring court and never left its borders, always wondering what the world outside is like. The stories she grew up with are few, and her father tells her nothing. And the desire to know more takes over.

Galad, son of Feyre and Rhyssand, has a tense situation in the home, an illness has come and nothing seems to work to prevent the death that awaits. And when he meets the unknown Shifter from the spring court, he sees that she is not only unknown to the outside world, but that she herself hides her powers from her father.

The two find each other in a time of uncertainty and conflict, and the constant question for Kaite is, if she can ever return to the Spring Court and her old home.
