~5k words per chapter. Azalea Burton is determined to move out of her parents house and discover all that's good. She demands to win, and craves the taste of success. However, that's just a front. On the inside she's a scared girl obsessed with her beauty and the chance of ever becoming the definition of ugly. A hair mustn't be out of place. Her mother gave her this dreadful curse. A lady is nothing but her image. One night during the chill of winter a diamond necklace lays on her side table when she awakes. When she asks her parents about the gift, they deny ever buying it for her. While they're not struggling, why would they ever gift her something so gracious? Then again, the next night its rubies. Then pearls. Then emeralds... The gifts don't stop. Her parents deny it. Demand that she's going crazy, however the pile of precious good sits in her wood side table. Finally she gives into the temptation. Her body lays against the side of the bed awaiting. The window creaks open, and a man covered in head to toe with beautiful blood red tattoos steps into her small room. They stop right at the collar, but they do extend up the wings that stick from his back dropping into the alley as he leans towards the side table. "My favorite jewel, are you awake?" His voice is gruff, an invite into the impossible. Her eyes spring tears, "Don't worry. I'm not here to hurt you. My name is Leonardo Hereward, and you are my mate. Now that you've spotted me, I suppose I should convince you to come home." Azalea Burton couldn't ignore the temptation of the green glow surrounding his irises, or the out stretched hand. As the story goes, the dragon king was successful in buying his bride.
