Jack, a merman living in Ireland, sits alone on the coasts and wonders to himself if there are any other mermen and mermaids out there.

One day, Jack finds something that leads him into a tangle of a mess and is brought to a laboratory where they research aquatic life. There, Jack meets a scientist named Mark Fischbach who is interested in learning more about his kind. But as he and Jack bond, a relationship between them blossoms and they find themselves stuck between science and love.
