Tips on how to take care of your physical body in easier ways while stuck in an energy-devouring depression. Written from my own personal experience.
• Don't feel like going outside to sit in the sun and get that good good vitamin D? Look around your place of residence to see if you have a window facing the sun and sit in a chair by it for a while.
• Fatigued and feel like taking a shower would sap you in a way you can't afford? Go to/order a delivery from Walgreens with packages of shower-replacement cloths. They work wonderfully and make me feel clean without needing to move around or do much, and takes like half the time of a normal shower. Make sure to follow the packaging instructions.
• Have neglected brushing for teeth for a long time? ( no shame, baby, I've been there. My record is like two weeks. ) If you can brush your teeth, doing it for 30 seconds is better than not doing it at all. If even that is too taxing, floss then use mouthwash. According to my dentist that's just as good as 2 minutes of brushing.
• Eat whatever you want. If the choice your mind is giving you is brownies or nothing, eat the brownies. This goes for any other kind of junk food. If you can try and make those as healthy and nutritious as possible, that's great, but bottomline is your body needs solid food even if it doesn't have a whole lot of nutrients. If you know your stomach is empty but aren't feeling hungry, look up recipe/mukbang/food showcases and watch them to trick your brain into wanting food.
• This is something my physical therapist taught me: stretching and standing and walking back and forth in your house for a little while is a lot better exercise than you'd think. Order some thin stretchy workout bands and position them around your legs in different ways to pull them away from each other ( around your knees and ankles, around your feet to pull your feet up one at a time, etc ). Not too taxing but makes sure your muscles remember how to muscle.
