I was dressed and ready in the time frame Jerome gave me. Drea, Jerome, and I piled into the car and we headed to my mama's house. Mike offered to watch the kids while we were gone. I was happy to be going to see my parents but Jerome and Andrea were acting like it was the end of the world.
We stopped by Bush's to get Sweet Tea because my mama asked us to bring drinks and she would take care of everything else.
"What's wrong, y'all acting like somebody died?" I asked looked back and forth at Jerome and Drea. Drea looked nervous and Jerome laughed it off. Something was definitely up with them. I'll have to find out about that later I'm ready for my mama's ox tails.
When we got to my mama and daddy's house there were cars parked everywhere but they were all familiar cars. "Babe you go ahead and go in we got the drinks" Jerome said coming around to my side of the car and helping me out.
I walked into the house and was greeted by cousins, uncle's, aunts, and all my siblings. I was surprised that they were all family on my mama's side.
"Hey baby" my mama came to me and hugged me tight she kissed my cheek and rubbed my stomach. My daddy came next and did the same thing.
"Hi mama hi daddy, what is all this about" I asked referring to why we were all gathered.
"You'll find out in a minute baby. Now go speak to your grandma and then sit your butt down" My mama said pushing me into the living room.
"Granny's here?" I asked surprised. My mama is from South Carolina and my grandmother still lives there. A few weeks ago she wasn't even sure if she was well enough to come to my graduation or my baby shower now she's here.
After speaking to my granny and a couple other family members my feet and back started hurting so I decided to sit my tail down. My mama had introduced Jerome to everyone that he hadn't met in our family yet.
