New research from Stand.earth has uncovered a shocking truth: Drax, the coal giant-turned-“sustainable energy” company, is purchasing rare, irreplaceable old growth in British Columbia, Canada and turning these trees into wood pellets to fuel power plants overseas.

Yes, you read that correctly. Old growth is being burned for bioenergy, sold under the false label of “renewable energy” — and not only is the BC government allowing it, they’re funding it.

Will you join me in signing this petition calling on B.C. to do the right thing and protect old growth forests? https://act.stand.earth/page/90486/petition/1?locale=en-US&en_chan=wa&ea.tracking.id=whatsapp

As COP30 unfolds in the heart of the Amazon, in Belém, Brazil, we have a real opportunity to advance a key initiative that Indigenous Peoples in the Amazon have been calling for: an Amazon free of fossil fuels and all forms of extractavism.

Declaring the Amazon as an exclusion zone would do just that and more. Exclusion zones safeguard the rights, lives, and territories of Indigenous Peoples — especially those living in voluntary isolation and initial contact.

Join me in urging leaders to take real action — sign the petition today and help secure a thriving future for the Amazon and its people. https://act.stand.earth/page/90638/petition/1?locale=en-US&en_chan=wa&ea.tracking.id=whatsapp&utm_medium=social&utm_source=whatsapp&utm_content=GLOB-EG-PET-FORESTS_AMZN-DGT-COP30%20Petition&en_ref=74526772
