I know it’s been a while since you have posted and idk if u even still look at this account but I wanted to let you know I still love your one story. Even unfinished it is by far one of my favorite fanfictions. It is so good I made my first comments ever on Wattpad on your story and this conversation post. I would just like to ask if you would be willing to finish this story? If not would you be willing to make one last update detailing what you have happened (Doesn’t even have to be sentences it could just be bullet points)? If neither of course that’s alright because it is your choice. Just please let me know what you decide if you see this comment. Thank you I appreciate it.

@kitty9270 Well I obviously can't speak for the decisions of the characters, but my inference would be that Maxwell just doesn't believe he is wrong. In his mind, he's so perfect and knows so much that there is no world where he could be wrong about anything. Choosing Vincent as Monkey could have been a decision he made because he thought Vincent would be easily manipulated for being incompetent and getting a little bit of his attention would have indebted him forever. As for choosing Thiago as Rat, again, it's because Maxwell thinks he knows everything and making a bad decision is impossible until it's staring him in the face. Maxwell thinks Thiago is loyal to him and until they actively betray him, he can't accept the idea that anybody would go against him. As for an interest in Steven, maybe it's because he's there and he's young, meaning he should be easy to mold into exactly the type of soldier he wants. He even comments how Steven would have been his best soldier if he wished to join.

Personally I don’t get why Maxwell chose Vincent in the first place. It seems a bit out of character for someone who’s one step ahead. He can be blindsided but it was made clear pretty quickly Vincent was not very good at his job. I feel like it would have made more sense for Maxwell to pick someone else for monkey. There was bound to be more than one monkey in his army. Im also pretty sure he had equipment he could use to transfer it from Vincent to another monkey because they were trying to capture the kids. It was probably to show the lengths Maxwell would go like u said but story wise it didn’t make much sense. That was my only real confusion with the book but I was also curious for why Maxwell was so interested in Steven (apart from main character thing). And also why rat got his power. I feel like loyalty would be very important for Maxwell so y would he give the powers to potentially disloyal people. My favorite part would be the climax where they beat Maxwell. It’s interesting how they grew and with some help from Thiago (rat) they won. The teenage stubbornness feels realistic. Again when u finish the other books feel free to comment about them here. It’s always nice to talk about a book series you enjoy. Especially when other people don’t talk about it much.

@kitty9270 I think the part I found most interesting is when Maxwell uses his powers on Vincent (Monkey) because it gives us a taste of the type of person Maxwell is and shows what kind of person he would be if he had complete control over the Dragon. The scene I found most entertaining was when Zodiac was going up against Vanguard the first time in Greenland. The fights were good and it really did feel like a fight between a group of inexperienced teenagers against military trained professionals. They may have won, but it showed them the lengths they have to go, not only with their own powers, but being able to work together and train themselves. The fight works to set them up to become a real team. I remember thinking when I first finished the series that Convergence was still my favourite, and I did really enjoy it. But I'll have to see if the others were better than I remember when I finish them.
