godspeed - frank ocean

willow often took walks on the beach.

she used to hate the beach, but she learned to love it.

today felt... different, for the girl.

she missed him.

a lot.

sure, she always missed him.

but some days more then others.

and today was one of those days.

•••

over the 26 years willow spent as a ghost,

she had a lot of time to think,

and to do stuff.

she would usually think about luke.

how nice he was to her.

and how she felt about him.

although, to this day, she still isn't quite sure about that last one.

other times, she would think about how she died.

even though she wanted to forget about every single moment,

she couldn't.

there would be certain things she saw out in public that would remind her of it.

and things she saw on herself that reminded her of it.

•••

some things you may not know about willow, is that she loved, and loves, to write music.

she always carries around her song book.

the book was sage green and had a few flowers drawn on the front.

there was a point in her life where she completely stopped writing music.

but when she met luke it was as if she never stopped.

with all the years she had to think,

she had written multiple songs.

and rewritten songs she already made.

she would never show anyone what they were.

because they were something she never wanted anyone to see, ever.

so she never let it leave her sight.

or at least tried to.

•••

melody was the best friend willow could ever ask for.

she was understanding, and made sure willow still did what she loved even if she was feeling down.

for example, melody would go on walks with her on the beach because she didn't like going by herself.

she would look at the stars with her,

walk through forests with her.

even if melody didn't particularly enjoy doing these things,

she could tell willow did.

when the two of them heard about all the 'unfinished business' stuff, melody felt as if hers was to keep willow happy.

so that's what she did.

willow wasn't quite sure why melody spent so much time doing stuff with her,

but she appreciated it more then anything.

•••

willow sits on one of the logs on the beach,

staring out into the water.

finding peace in how it moves and the colors.

she was alone, due to melody being who knows where.

but she was quite content with being alone in this moment.

she had her space to think.

as she was thinking about someone,

music started playing.

it was faint, but loud enough for her to hear.

she looked around a bit to see where it was coming from but couldn't tell.

the song was upbeat, repeating 'this band is back'.

the voices were much too familiar for her liking.

like, way, too familiar.
