Naruto’s POV

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I sat watching my little sister sleeping. I smiled to myself, I was pretty lucky. I may not have known Mom or Dad, but I knew my sister. I was grateful for that. I’m not sure how or when but by some miracle, I have a baby sister. I watched her as she tossed and turned; I noticed her eyes and clenched my fists. That Zabuza creep, how dare he do that to her! If only Kakashi Sensei had let me give him at least one blow, then maybe, I could’ve done part of my duty to protect her, as her older brother.

‘Any signs of awakening, yet?’ a voice came. I jumped and turned to see Mr. Tazuna’s daughter, Tsunami, poking her head through the door. I shook my head.

‘Nuh uh, same as last time,’ I answered. She nodded.

‘Call me if she wakes up okay, Naruto? Oh, and I think Sasuke wants to talk to you. I’m going to check on your Sensei now,’ she smiled. I huffed and grunted as Sasuke Perfect Uchiha walked in, his hands in his pockets, looking all cool.

‘Hmph. What’d you want, Sasuke?’ I mumbled. He shrugged and sat down beside me. I watched him with suspicion as he too, watched Kasumi. He must’ve noticed me because he turned around, looking pretty pissed off.

‘What is it, Loser?’ he demanded. I pouted and shook my head.

‘Nothin’, why?’ I asked. He growled.

‘You keep looking at me funny! What’s your damn problem, Naruto!?’ he growled again.

‘I’m not looking at anyone funny! Quit lying Sasuke!’

‘You calling me a liar?!’ Sasuke stood up clenching his fists.

‘You calling me a liar, Sasuke?’ I mocked, standing too. It would’ve been so much better if I were taller, then I could look him in the eye and give him the evils.

‘Can it, you two,’ Kasumi snapped. We both turned, shocked to see Kasumi standing a few feet in front of us, her arms folded across her chest. Her pale green-ish blue eyes were glaring at us both, as if she could see us.

‘But!’

‘I said, shut up,’ she said more calmly. We turned back to each other, and had a mini staring contest before reluctantly sitting down. Kasumi grinned, obviously pleased with herself, and retired to her bed.

‘Hey, Tsunami-san, Kasumi-chan’s awake!’ I informed Tsunami. She came running in, with a tray full of food, as well as some medical stuff.

‘Hello there Kasumi. I’m Tsunami, and you’re safe now, in my home. You already know my father, Tazuna. I’m just going to help fix you up and I’ve brought you some food. You’ve been out for three days now, so I suspect that you’re hungry!’ Tsunami gave her a closed eyed smile. Kasumi’s eyes widened.

THREE DAYS!?’ she gasped. Tsunami nodded but I answered, seeing as she couldn’t see.

‘Hai,’

‘B-B-But how?’ she asked. Sasuke appeared at her side, his hand on her shoulder, so she knew he was there.

‘You fell asleep while I was carrying you back to the others and you wouldn’t wake up. We thought you’d caught hypothermia, so we rushed you back to Tazuna’s home and got you treated. You were out cold for three days, like Tsunami-san just said,’ Sasuke told her. She stood up, shaking him off.

‘I’m sorry for worrying you guys!! But I’m fine now, why don’t we go train or something?’ she grinned, about to stroll out of the room.

‘Wait there, now young lady. You’re not well enough to go outside, not for a few days at least. Just as Sasuke said, you do have hypothermia and the house is barely warm enough as it is, which I apologise for. Now please, Kasumi, rest dear, you’ll need it if you want to be well by next week,’ Tsunami said, leading her back to her bed.

‘Next week? But that’s ages away!’ Kasumi groaned, but did as she was told. I smiled and poked my tongue out at her.

‘Naruto, I can see what you’re doing! I may be blind but I can still see!’ she growled, shooting me an unamused look. My eyes widened. But how could she see? She was blind!

‘Here, have some ramen...’ Tsunami started. I jumped up, excited only to be stopped by Sasuke.

‘No, Loser, this is Kasumis dinner. You’ve eaten every day since we’ve been here; she’s missed meals for three days in a row. Quit being greedy,’ he warned. I huffed and sat down, watching Kasumi as she politely took the ramen off of Tsunami-san and then gulping down the ramen.

‘Gomen, I was pretty hungry,’ she apologised. Tsunami smiled.

‘Not to worry! I’ll bring you some more soon, but for now, get some rest,’ she smiled, taking the tray and leaving the room. I dragged my butt across the floor, sliding to Kasumi. Sasuke looked at me in disgust so I stuck my tongue out at him too.

‘Can’t you two just get along for once?’ Kasumi sighed aloud. I snorted. Me? Get along with Sasuke! Pfht! No chance! We both shook our heads at her.

‘Hmm, well I’m bored. Can we do something fun? Please?’ Kasumi begged. Sasuke looked at her funny.

‘Kasumi, you’re still recovering, do you really think that it’s a good idea to be up and moving about so soon?’

Kasumi shrugged, smirking to herself.

‘Why don’t we go annoy Sensei!’ she grinned, clenching her fists by her face in excitement. I jumped up, excited too.

‘Yeah! Let’s go Kasumi-chan!’ I grinned marching out of the room.

‘No way, Kasumi back into bed. You’ll die if you’re not careful! And besides, Kakashi’s passed out too. Now do as I say!’ Sasuke ordered a surprised looking Kasumi. I glared at Sasuke, steam coming out of my ears. Kasumi just shrugged and slumped back into bed, as if it was nothing.

‘Who do you think you are Sasuke!? Her father? She’s my sister, and even I don’t talk to her like that!’ I growled at him. His eyes widened and he retaliated.

‘Oh really Naruto! I was only trying to help, damnit!’ he shouted. I felt a draft and my eyes widened, Sasuke’s too, as we were both looking down at Kasumi. She had her hands gripping our shoulders firmly, so that we couldn’t hurt or get at each other, and she was looking at the floor.

Woah, what incredible speed.

‘Quit your bickering, you sound like two old grannies, now why don’t you go wait for Sensei to wake up?’ she let us go, making us both stumble a bit. We stared at her in awe. Who knew that she had that much speed and strength? We continued to stare at her, her normal long, straight-ish hair was all messy and the clip that held her fringe back had fallen out, leaving a long curtain of uneven red hair drooping around her eyes.

‘I can see you,’ she whispered. We flinched and waved to her, before leaving the room. She clearly wanted to be left in peace, so that’s what we did. Okay then, let’s go see how Kakashi Sensei is doing!
