‘Wake up sleepy head,’ Sasuke said, pulling back my curtains. I flinched when the bright light reached my face. I sat up slowly, rubbing my eyes.

‘What was that for, Sasuke-kun?’ I asked sleepily. Sasuke chuckled. I sat up lazily and glared at him.

‘What’s so funny?’ I asked raising my eyebrow. He laughed harder and I pouted.

‘Your hair! It’s...’ he started. I jumped out of bed and tackled him to floor. I was touchy about my hair, I wished people wouldn’t tease me about it. Sasuke chuckled to himself.

‘You’re pretty strong, aren’t you?’ he smirked. I smirked too.

‘And fast,’ I grinned. Sasuke rolled his eyes and I got off him. He stood up and brushed himself off. I noticed that he was already dressed. I limped back over to my bed and began making it. Sasuke appeared on the opposite side and began helping me. I glanced up for a split second, catching his eye. I blushed and glued my eyes back to the bed sheets. Sasuke chuckled to himself again. I blushed harder. What was this strange fuzzy feeling? Why was I going the same colour as my hair? HELP!!

----

Sasuke helped me out of the house again. We headed to the Hokage’s office. My spirits lifted. Maybe Dad would be in his office! I tried to break into a run but then I remembered my ankle so it became difficult. Instead I took it up a pace and tugged at Sasuke’s arm. He realised I was desperate to do something so he deliberately went slowly. Inside I was screaming and jumping up and down but I tried to keep my cool by biting my lip. We made it to the stairs and I sighed. Sasuke helped me hop up the long flight of stair. I nearly burst into the Hokage’s room but Sasuke stopped me.

‘The old man doesn’t like to be disturbed, I’ll go first,’ he said putting his arm in front of me. Wait. Old man?? My father wasn’t old! Then it dawned on me, it wasn’t my Dad, was it? Sasuke knocked and an old croaky voice answered. It definitely was not my father.

‘Come in Sasuke,’ the voice croaked. We went in and I saw an old man sitting in the seat where my father would’ve sat. My heart sank.

‘Who’s this?’ the old man.

I looked up and put on a fake smile.

‘I’m Kasumi Akane Namikaze, sir,’ I said bowing. Again I left out my other surname. Maybe this old bloke would know my father’s surname, rather than my mother’s. The old man’s eyes widened.

‘Namikaze, you say?’ he said, eying me up and down. I fiddled with my red hair nervously.

‘And you graduated here?’ he asked raising an eyebrow.

‘Yes, sir,’ I mumbled looking at my feet.

‘Well, I certainly haven’t seen you around before, but no worry, I’ll sort everything out so you can be put into a squad, for now. If you’d just fill out this form...’ he chuckled to himself. I walked over to him slowly and saw a form on his desk. It was in a book, a ninja profile. That’s all. I gulped and picked up and pen and began writing.

---------

Sasuke helped me into the Academy classroom, one I recognised as my own, I headed over to my usual seat when Sasuke grabbed my arm.

‘No, come sit with me, the other’s won’t give you any trouble if you stick by me,’ he said, winking at me. I smiled and followed him. I sat next to Sasuke and soon found a load of girls pointing and whispering at me. I bowed my head, embarrassed. It was my hair wasn’t it? They suddenly stopped and I turned to see Sasuke glaring at them. I turned to face him.
