Kasumi’s POV

I dragged myself out of bed, my foot throbbing again. When the others had gone, Sasuke and I had made our way over to the hospital.

We sat nervously in the waiting room, waiting to be called in so we could get it done and over with. Sasuke glanced at me and smiled. I smiled weakly back at him. I clenched my fist and bit my lip as the pain got worse, maybe it really was broken?

‘Kasumi Namikaze?’ the nurse called. I nodded and pushed myself up. Sasuke ran to my side and helped me hobble through to the nurse’s room. He sat me down and stood beside me while the nurse took a look at my foot.

‘Well, it seems that it is badly fractured, but, also it seems that it could’ve been worse if you hadn’t put a splint on before you came...’ I blinked, how did she know? I looked up at Sasuke.

‘I thought it was just a sprain when she first injured it, so I put a splint on for her,’ he replied. The nurse smiled and nodded.

‘Ah, good thing you have such a caring boyfriend!’ she cooed. My eyes widened. BOYFRIEND?!

‘Oh no! He’s not my boyfriend!’ I started

‘She’s just my friend!’ Sasuke argued. The nurse chuckled to herself.

‘Alright, alright, but it’s a good thing your friend knew what to do,’ the nurse smiled. I sighed as she began rummaging down her drawers.

‘Well, we’ll get you a cast and a new splint fitted,’ she smiled.

I limped out of the hospital, Sasuke at my side. There was an awkward silence between us all the way home. I had some ramen and then I went straight to bed. That was a long day...

I heard a knock on my door.

‘Come in!’ I answered. Sasuke slid the door open; he had a serious look on his face.

‘Sasuke-kun?’ I asked. He looked down at the floor.

‘The Hokage wants to see you in his office. Immediately,’ I froze. The Hokage? I stood up and rushed forward, tripping in the process. Sasuke’s eyes widened and he rushed to catch me.

‘Arigato, Sasuke-kun,’ I whispered, shakily. He smiled softly and helped me back onto my feet. I blushed hard as I found myself staring into his dark eyes. I mentally slapped myself out of the trance. Pull it together Kasumi! The Hokage wants you in his office, now! I pulled away from him blushing ruby red.

‘I’m gonna get ready, I won’t be long, okay Sasuke-kun,’ I nodded as Sasuke left. I quickly pulled on my usual white zip-up t-shirt and blue ninja pants. I pulled on my Dad’s old fleece and rushed out of the room. I bumped into Sasuke who had been waiting outside the room the whole time. My face was just inches away from his...

‘Kasumi?’ he asked. I stepped back slowly.

‘Yes?’ I answered.

‘I need to ask you something,’ he said slowly. I blinked, worried.

‘What’s wrong Sasuke?’ I asked, my voice shaking.

‘Well um, you know yesterday at the hospital...’ I nodded slowly.

‘Yeah?’

‘Well, I’ve been thinking...’ there was a knock on Sasuke’s door. He growled and walked over to the door. I gasped to see an ANBU agent standing at the door. She had long dark hair and she hid her face with the ANBU mask, she wore the original ANBU uniform.
