---Sneakie-Peakie---
The two Shinobi held hands and looked out into the sunset. They had heavy hearts but had plenty of hope left in them. They took out a Chinese lantern and lit it up and the sky faded into a beautiful purple. The lantern soon became lighter and the two Shinobi raised it up and let it go, watching it drift out over their village. Pretty soon, hundreds of other Chinese lanterns flew up from the village beneath them, drifting the same way as theirs had. They did this every year on this day, the same time. It was a sign, a light home. Something that would give them new hope.
'Come home Kasumi,' they both said together as the lanterns were carried away by the wind.
----------
The young blonde haired Shinobi laughed and joked with his Sensei, who sighed every now and then.
'Calm down Naruto, we're nearly there,' he told him.
'But Pervy Sage! I've been waiting to get home for ages!' he sweat-dropped. Jiraiya smiled to himself.
'I suppose you're right,' he said to himself. The two carried on, laughing and talking about training and the times they'd shared until the gates of the Hidden Leaf came into sight. Naruto's heart leapt and he nearly ran on ahead but he stayed, waiting patiently for the reunion he was going to have.
They arrived in the village, seeing familiar faces which put a smile on the young boy's face. He stopped for a moment and found a tall pole which he ran up, easily keeping the chakra in his feet balanced. He reached the top and yelled and cheered.
'Naruto Uzumaki is back in the Leaf!' he yelled grinning. 'This place hasn't changed one bit!' he laughed.
'Naruto!? Is that really you?' a familiar voice called to him. Naruto looked down to see Sakura, Konohamaru and his team mates. He grinned and went down to meet them. He noticed Konohamaru's Sexy No Jutsu and sighed.
'You shouldn't do that Konohamaru, it's beneath you,' he said. Konohamaru's face darkened.
'YOU CALL THAT SEXY NO JUTSU?! CHECK OUT MY SUPER PERV SEXY NO JUTSU THEN YOU WILL BE ABLE TO CATCH ME UP!!' Naruto yelled. He soon found how strong Sakura had become but she hadn't really changed so much. They all headed towards the Hokage's office and met up with Lady Tsunade.
'Well it's good to see you together again. I hope your training has brought you back with some promising results,' she smirked.
'You betcha Grandma!' Naruto grinned.
'Very well then. I've had a certain someone held back off missions for a few days to put your next skills to the test,' she smiled. Suddenly there was a knock at the door and in came Shikamaru and Temari.
'Shikamaru! Look what the cat dragged in,' Sakura joked, pointing at Naruto. Shikamaru stared at Naruto in disbelief.
'Is that really you, Naruto?' he gasped. 'Well you sure have changed!' he laughed. Sakura sweat-dropped.
'He really hasn't. Don't fall for those looks,' she sighed.
'So Shikamaru, are you gonna be training with us?' Naruto asked, grinning.
'Nope, I'm just here to report back from a mission,' he replied.
'Okay, what about uh....what was your name again?' Naruto asked nervously. Temari got angry.
'Seriously?! You don't remember me?! And no, I'm not aware that I'm training with you,' she told him.
'So who is training us, Grandma?' Naruto asked, puzzled.
'He's just out there,' Tsunade pointed to the window. Naruto rushed to the window and opened it. He looked to the side and grinned.
'Long time now see, Naruto,'
'Kakashi Sensei!' he grinned jumping out onto the roof with his old sensei.
Sakura came to the window and smiled.
'Wait a second,' Sakura started. Naruto turned.
'What is it Sakura?' he asked, confused.
'Kakashi Sensei, didn't you train Kasumi?' she asked. Kakashi nodded and smiled from under his mask.
'I sure did, and she's come far, much further than I ever thought she would,' he said.
'Wait, Sakura haven't you seen her?' Naruto asked, suddenly worried.
'No, not since the day she ran from the hospital. Where is she Sensei?' Sakura asked, now worried too. She hadn't seen her for nearly three years, how had that even been possible, they had lived and trained in the same village all this time so how could she not have run into her in all this time?
'Don't you worry, she'll be here,' Kakashi smirked.
'I hope so, I'm worried about her,' Sakura mumbled to herself.
'Really? I can't wait to see how far my little sister has come!' Naruto yelled excited. Kakashi grinned.
'She'll meet us at the training grounds, I told her to meet us there,' he sighed.
'Oh Kakashi Sensei, I got something for ya, dattebayo!' Naruto smirked, handing the masked Shinobi a perverted novel.
'Latest edition of the Make Out Series in three years. If you ask me, pretty boring, but I know you like this stuff so,'
Kakashi's hands shook as he reached for the book. His eye filled with sparkles and rainbows and as he opened the book, a bright blinding light shone out from the book's pages at all angles.
---------
Sakura, Naruto and Kakashi all arrived at the training grounds and were going through the instructions of their task when Naruto interrupted.
'Hey Sensei, I thought you said my sister was gonna meet us here!'
'Oh right, I almost forgot,' Kakashi chuckled to himself. He snapped his fingers and suddenly, there was a cold draft that didn't match the summer's evening. Leaves and dust were picked up in the sudden draft and Naruto and Sakura both felt the draft on the back of their necks, making them shiver slightly.
Naruto sensed a strong chakra presence behind him and a grin crept its way onto his face. Sakura turned around next to him and gasped, putting her hand over her mouth. Naruto followed and soon saw why she'd gasped. In front of them stood Kasumi, she was kneeling on one knee, one hand resting on her up-right knee and the other feeling the ground.
She looked different. She wore the same blue Shinobi pants with her sandals and bandages. Her shirt was different, it was a deep red, sleeveless kimono vest with a high collar and two white baggy but short sleeves that cut off at her elbows. She wore fingerless gloves and bandages on her fore-arms and elbows. She wore a wristband on her left wrist, just above the glove cut off. Her face seemed the same, but her scars seemed to stand out more, a darkish red-pink. Her hair is what made Sakura and Naruto gasp.
It was short, and when you think short, you may think Sakura short but Kasumi's hair was nearly a red version of Sasuke's hair, but with a droopey side fringe, nearly covering her left eye.
'Naruto, Sakura,' she grinned, her voice still the same. 'You guys have really changed!' she chuckled giving them the old closed-eyed smile that they'd missed for so long.
'K-Kasumi,' Naruto choked, a smile creeping back onto his face and tears threatening to spill from his eyes. 'I missed you little Sister,'
