Beyond Konoha - Different Dimensions

Chapter 6

Kushina's POV

I leapt throw the trees, looking for any suspicious signs or traces of Kasumi. There had to be more clues about my daughter's disappearance, there just had to be. Minato had ordered that all available ANBU and Shinobi were to help join in the search for our lost daughter. I came across an old path that lead deeper into the forest. I stopped. Maybe this could help?

I went in slowly and immediately noticed something in the air. I took in my surroundings, something didn't seem quite right. I paused for a split second when I felt my foot get caught in something. My eyes widened and I leapt back, dodging a booby trap.

'That was a close one,' I whispered to myself. I examined the area where I'd just been standing. Someone had definitely been here, the evidence was in the traps. I turned on my radio and tried to reach Minato.

'Minato, I've found something, I think it has something to do with Kasumi,'

'Where abouts are you, dear?' Minato asked.

'Um, I'm not entirely sure honey, but I'll signal a flare,' I said performing hand signs. I placed my hand on the ground and a flare shot high into the sky.

'Arigato Kushina, I'll be there in a flash,' Minato replied, the radio went dead.

'Alright my Yellow Flash,' I whispered smiling to myself. I loved Minato, with all my heart, like I did with Kasumi and of course Naruto. I only prayed that the four of us could all be alive together...

'Kushina?' Minato appeared at my side.

'Hai, someone was here, I don't remember checking out this area but its been booby trapped, I think it ,ought have to do with Kasumi's disappearance,' I reported.

Minato nodded, and flung his kunai onto a tree trunk above where I'd been when the trap was set off. He appeared on the trunk.

'You were right, this whole place is layed with traps and explosives, Tobi doesn't want us on his trail. We'll need to scan ahead and see how much more of the forest is booby trapped, before it's too late. If we find Tobi before he can get far enough from the village, we'll be able to bring Kasumi home,' Minato reappeared at my side. He nodded at me and I tuned in my radio.

'Lord Hokage, we've got a problem sir,' a voice came in.

'What is it?' Minato asked. There were a few crackles but eventually there came a reply.

'We've found Tobi...'

Our eyes widened.

'Where is he?!' I yelled.

'Help! He's attacking and he's not alone!' A desperate voice cried.

'Try to hold him off for as long as you can, we're on our way!' Minato said.

'Hurry sir!'

Minato grabbed my hand and pulled me into his arms.

'Hold on honey, don't let go,' he whispered. I nodded and clutched his cloak, careful not to ruin the brilliant fabric. Minato shot off into the trees. He went so fast that the scenery around us was just a blur. He glanced down at me, to check if I was alright. I nodded in response. He returned his gaze to ahead of us. We soon stopped, horrified by what we saw. Shinobi and ANBU agents lay wounded around us. Minato set me down and we both ran to the side of one Shinobi.

'What happened here?' Minato asked. I rested the wounded Shinobi's head on my lap.

'T-Tobi, and the b-blonde one,' he struggled. I tuned my radio to the hospital.

'We urgently need some medical nin out here now! Please hurry,'

'Certainly, we're on our way,'

I turned to the Shinobi who was drifting in and out of consciousness.

'Can you tell us which way the enemy went?' I asked softly. The ninja pointed towards the gates of the village. My eyes widened.

'Minato...'

My husband turned to face me, a sad look in his eyes.

'Go ahead, try to stop them before they reach the main village, I'll wait here until the medical nin arrive,' I whispered, Minato nodded. I gave him a quick peck on the lips before he darted off. I waited for the medical nin to arrive. Gently, I resented the Shinobi's head back onto the grass and went to see if there were any wounds that I could fix. I wasn't very good at first aid but I knew the basics. I managed to help ten casualties until the professionals arrived.

'Arigato, Lady Kushina,' one of the medical nin said.

'Hai, I had to do something. Gomenasai but I have to carry on and catch up with the Hokage,' I said standing up.

'Good luck, both of you,' the medical nin said. I replied with a smile before I followed after my husband, hoping and praying that nothing bad had happened to the village or my Yellow Flash...

So sorry! I've been buried under studying and homework, I've got my first proper gcse in a few says and have had barley any time to work on my story. I am working on the next chapter but I wanted to include Minato and Kushina more so this chapter is for them.
