Chapter 9

ANBU Agent’s POV

I waited outside of the Hokage’s office, it was quite late and my long shift for the last two days was finally over. I glanced down at my feet and then I started fiddling with my kunai. I heard footsteps and quickly put the weapon away as the door slid open. Lord Hokage sat at his desk, looking into his crystal ball. Four kids and their Sensei, who I recognised as Hatake Kakashi, were walking back from the training fields. Hmm this must’ve been from earlier. I walked in slowly and bowed. I looked up and removed my ANBU mask to the side of my head.

‘Lord Hokage, you summoned me?’ I said. The old man sat up and placed his hands on the desk.

‘Hai, arigato for coming at such short notice, Aiko,’ the Hokage said. I bowed again.

‘I want you to do me a very important mission. Yes, I know that it’s very late but I waited for this time deliberately,’ I stepped forward, wanting to know more.

‘Are you familiar with Naruto Uzumaki?’ the Hokage asked. My whole body froze, the Nine Tails...

‘Hai, my Lord, son of the Forth, right?’ I said, avoiding those two dreaded words. The Hokage nodded.

‘And I’m not sure if you knew already but a mysterious girl has appeared in the village. She was apparently born and raised here but there are no records of her at all,’ I shook my head. I didn’t know that.

‘Her name is Kasumi-Akane Namikaze,’ the Hokage said. I flinched. Namikaze? The Forth...but how? Is it just a coincidence?

‘What exactly do you want me to do sir?’ I asked. The Hokage stood up and walked around his desk. He interlocked his fingers together and leant against his desk.

‘I want you to do a DNA test on Naruto Uzumaki and Kasumi-Akane Namikaze. I want the results done as soon as possible and I need every single piece of information you can find on these two, do you understand Aiko?’ the Hokage looked serious. I nodded my head.

‘Yes my Lord, I’ll have the results back to you in two hours,’

‘You’re aware where Naruto lives but it seems Kasumi has taken a room at Sasuke Uchiha’s home. Be careful,’ the Hokage informed me. I nodded and I put my mask back on. I quickly bowed and left.

I slowed down and searched for an opening. I caught sight of an open window and leapt over to it. I silently crept in and saw a young girl asleep. I noticed two things about her. Her bright long, red hair reached past her bum, I gasped, she looked like Kushina Uzumaki, the Forth’s wife. I noticed her right ankle was in a cast and a splint. I snuck over to her bedside and pulled out a pair of tweezers. I used them to pick out a strand of her beautiful long red hair and then gently pulled at it. It came out easily and I slipped it into a plastic bag.

I quickly left and went on to the Uzumaki’s home. I arrived and found the blonde kid sprawled all across the bed. The blankets had somehow ended up on the other side of the room and he was hugging and drooling all over his pillow. I shivered. Ewww, gross. I pulled out tweezers again and tugged at a strand of his bright yellow hair. He really looked like the Forth. I wonder...

Naruto began tossing and wriggling about, scaring me to death. I jumped back with the strand of hair and quickly slipped it into another plastic bag before ducking in case he woke up. I poked his cheek with my gloved hand and he stopped moving. I sighed with relief and left for the secret base.

I got there in good time and handed the two samples in.

‘Lord Hokage wants these two strands of hair tested for DNA, and wants the results on his desk before midnight,’ I ordered.

‘We’ll have them done before then Aiko,’ the medical nin smiled.

I placed the results on Lord Hokage’s desk. They were sealed in a brown envelope and had TOP SECRET stamped on in capital, bold, red letters. I bowed and stood back towards the door. The Hokage opened the envelope and his eyes widened.

‘Sir?’

‘I want Naruto and Kasumi in my office first thing tomorrow,’ he ordered.

I nodded and left the room, yes sir. I wonder what those results said...

As promised, the next chapter. Yeah i know its short but expect a new and much longer chapter on sunday ^^

A/N - Pic of Aiko on the side. she's not a main character but I want her to feature a bit more in the story, as a friend of Kasumi's(she befriends kasumi)
