Always listen to your gut!!!!

I tapped my hands on my lap, no longer tired after taking multiple naps. My stomach growled again, I was more hungry than I thought.

Kyoya peeked at me and smiled. "You should really open up more. There's people around you willing to help even if you barely know them."

I turned and stared at him wide-eyed. "Well, I could say the same for you Kyoya." Then I went back to tapping my hands.

Though I didn't know at the time, these few words seemed to crack his wall that he had built up around himself. Kyoya was in a state of shock and wanted to ask what she meant, but then the car stopped.

We walked out and I saw that we were at a marketplace. There were fairy lights strung up above the tents of the small shops. People walking through the roads of empty space between the line of shops.

I thought Kyoya would be one that likes to go to fancy restaurants, but I much prefer a marketplace. It feels less fancy and more peaceful.

"Wow.. It's so pretty."

"It sure is.." He smiled and grabbed my hand.

My face heated up a bit, but I began getting used to his hand in mine.

He led me to a specific tent at the corner of the marketplace. "They have the best karaage I've ever tasted."

I was surprised to see that no one was near the shop, if Kyoya said it was good I'm pretty sure the food would taste delightful.

The owner of the shop looked at us and smiled. "Ah! Kyoya, good to see ya! Who dis lovely lady?"

"Hello, I'm Michiya Shimizu." I answered formally.

The cheerful owner tapped his hand on the table. "Perfect! Sit down, sit down! I'll whip ya up two bowls of my finest karaage! Sure will- yes indeedy!"

Kyoya and I sat down on the stools in front of the table and the owner turned around to cook.

"Yo~san here is a good friend of mine, I've been going to this marketplace since I was a little boy."

Yo~san let out an airy laugh, listening to us. "Sure was! You wuz such a brat when you wuz just a lil' crawler!

The more I heard Yo~san speak, the more I heard his western accent. "Yo~san?"

"Yes ma'am?" He chirped.

"Are you from the states?"

"Ah! Yer talkin' 'bout my accent huh? Yes indeedy, most newcomers ask 'bout it."

He danced around a bit while he cooked, I can't believe Kyoya would enjoy being around such an upbeat person.

"Yessiree, my momma wuz from the states and my pops from here in Japan. I grew up in 'Murica, but moved here a lil' over a decade ago."

I finally understood why Kyoya liked this guy so much, I could tell how kindhearted he was just by talking to him. He made me feel relaxed without even trying. It wasn't even draining to talk to him.

He then turned around and shoved two bowls of karaage and white rice towards us.

"Thank you, Yo~san!"

I smiled and picked up my chopsticks and began eating.

The karaage surely was the best karaage I've ever tasted. The savory flavor danced on my tongue, even after I swallowed, I could still taste it.
