The saddest truth.

The saddest truth is realising you have fallen madly in love with what can never be.

I unlocked the car door and exited the vehicle. The rain was hammering down. The heavy raindrops echoed as they plunged onto my coat. Her small figure stepped closer towards me. She lifted the huge umbrella over my head as she made sure to cover the both of us under its shelter.

Her pale delicate hands still gripped onto the envelope

Her pale delicate hands still gripped onto the envelope. The envelope seemed to be worn out. As I examined it, I noticed the crinkles and little dents all over.

"Ah... sorry...this is for you Akaashi"

The rain drops pounded onto the umbrella.

I leaned my arm towards the direction of the letter gesturing for her to lay it into my hands

I leaned my arm towards the direction of the letter gesturing for her to lay it into my hands.

"I better be going Akaashi, look after yourself. you look really pale and malnourished....please ring any of us if you need anything.. we're all here to help you along the way Akaashi"

Go away, I thought to myself.
The reality was that no one actually cared. I knew that. Bokuto knew that better than anyone. It just didn't seem real to me anymore. I wanted to awake from this nightmare.

The fog had reached the main city. The rain had gotten heavier. The winds were are strong as ever. I found comfort in all of it. the cold raindrops running down into my hair and down my face reminded me I was still here. I can still feel and see the beauty in the world after losing everything I lived for. Seeing the beauty in the smallest of things.

It gave me a sense of being alive. For being so strong. For him.

For Bokuto.

It's what he would have wanted.

I leaned onto the bonnet of my car as I held onto the umbrella she had left me. The handle had become cold. The puddles gradually filled the surrounding area in which I had been standing in for a while now.
